Default New PayPal Accounts in UK

When making new PayPal accounts...

Does anyone know why on some occasions paypal cannot confirm your personal details while attempting to lift limits and asks to send in documents ...

... while other times they are able to confirm your personal details and do not ask for documents.

Are they accessing the UK Electoral Vote Register database and comparing info?

Or how do they make decision whether they need docs or dont need?

If you are not on electoral role and you do not have details that match this details will need to be sent in with documents matching

So PayPal have access to Electoral Role database and use only that to verify details? No other factors?

Normally once your bank account is verified this should go away.

Always does for me but I may just be lucky..

Have you confirmed your bank account?

So even though they asking me now to send docs,

When I put in 2 small numbers, it will go away?

Before you can get a correct reply, tell us the state of your paypal.

You appear to have be confusing procedures.

You will not be able to lift limits until you do certain things.

Now there are two types of limits to be concerned about with paypal uk.
Monthly selling and annual £1900 limit

Describe your account

Do tell us the information greenbean is asking but I think it was the same situation I was in..

You've just opened a PayPal account, you've added your bank account info. Now you are confirming or adding information about yourself like your date of birth and so on..

You've done that twice but now they want you to send your I'd and so on in?

If so please wait until you get the two small amounts from PayPal paid into your bank account and put them in to finish verifying your account.

Hopefully this should work as it does for me but PLEASE DO REPORT BACK AFTER

Verifying the Paypal account (confirming the two deposits) will not remove the £1900 receiving limit.

There are two ways to lift receiving limit:-

1. Paypal are able to confirm your identity using public databases (like ER).

2. Send in documents that get reviewed and approved.

Very useful information, thanks

One more question please,

When you upload documents, is it best to sit and wait, or ring paypal and say that they should look at them right now?

Is there a reason members don't create a Stealth PP via the US, then withdraw funds to a bank that does businesss in the US and the UK?

Many UK users do create US accounts.

Personally, I feel the UK is better for stealth. Bank accounts are generally harder to get hold of than in the US (no VBA) however UK Paypal accounts don't get hit with the SSN request (or similar).

The £1900 receiving limit is relatively easy to remove with docs and isn't a major sticking point.

It would also be potentially better for a US user to use a UK Paypal account as all countries that allow bank withdrawal, allow it to a US bank account.

Maybe I'll look into it. It's so easy to create a stealth account in the US and getting bank accounts are easy.

It's so easy just to rotate accounts here in the US to avoid 200/$20k.

I have Dual citizenship, so I guess getting a UK account would not be a problem either.

I already have bank account in UK & IE. Is IE same as UK for stealth?

I still don't see a real benefit of UK Stealth.

I see members always talking about getting Canadian Stealth, but never UK.

Maybe an International Stealth Expert can put in their 2 cents

To be honest, thinking about it, the US is far better for stealth as it is easy to create account after account.

I do like the UK set up as everything Paypal throws at you can be overcome. An SSN request on an account (not tax request) usually spells the end of the account. The key to operating successful US stealth accounts is to avoid being asked for the SSN in the first place.

Anyway, like you say, probably best to wait for an expert.

@roscoe, do you want to look as though you are based over here to sell to UK customers or appear in UK searches as opposed to down at the bottom for international?

In the US there is no paperwork. I can create 4 stealths in one hour as long as I have all the details at hand. I'm creating 12 tonight.

Attach a VCC and a Bank account and ready to recieve funds.

The key is to have many Stealths. I've thought about Canadain or UK PayPal but I don't see any advantage.

Mabye GB or someone else can advise.

As oompa said, it is advantageous if you want to have a presence in those specific countries. You don't get asked for SSN so roughly speaking you can get away with using less acccounts.

Ireland is similar to the UK (except they use the potato or Euro as currency). All EU countries have this anti-money laundering limit in place.

Anyway, best to wait for the experts.

Has nothing to do with money laundering or national security.

It's all about collecting taxes.

Don't be misled by those in power.

That's what Paypal call it - hence the reason why I referred to it as that.

Rattle on about what it's actually for all you want. It doesn't really interest me.
