It will have been noted. I assume the broadband is a Static IP and linked to a suspended account.

As it is not a suspended account and it doesn't happen again I would think everything should be OK. The two accounts will have been linked though.

Not necessarily. Logging in once or maybe twice is okay, but just don't make the same mistake again

Hopefully you then went to immediately change your broadband IP?

I would have tried to make it look like the IP was released and was allocated to some other guy (who happened to be your stealth nemesis).

Might be more of a potential problem if you then used your real account with that same IP address again.

no I did it too recently.

actually it depends which connection takes precedence, as usually it is the home broadband. I forgot to press the blue/orange button to switch off wireless and so wireless was left still able to connect but I also had dongle plugged in and connected too, when I realised I checked on ip burgerand I was on the dongle ip ( the one I wanted), BUT I then checked the map on another ip site, the map was for my broadband ie near my area..but it still said my dongle ip?????..I assume that ebay got my dongle ip but weird...

I do this on a regular basis.
Too busy thinking of other things related to a day to day running of businesses.
Or im just forgetfull but i prefer the prior.
No doubt it will come to bite me in the arse one day but my learnings have now put me in a posistion where they may take a few but never all .
Everytime i suspect i have dropped a bo11ock i create 5 more accounts.
Even if nothing happens it makes me feel better.

I'm in that mindset because I'm likely to get confused otherwise and make mistakes. Also frees up your main pc for friends to use when they come round etc.

And because it's only for ebay, the odd bit of photoshop elements perhaps, it can be an old laptop. Mine is a 1.7Ghz P4... found in recycling here and I stuck in a HD from a 80Gb portable drive I also found in recycling previously. I've installed a cut down version of XP and all is ok, although can't find a wireless driver that works which is fine cos I won't need it.

Easier obviously to get something already working from freecycle, gumtree free section or cheap off ebay.

Have it set up in a pretend home office area for your ebay "business" - get into a serious frame of mind.
