Default Disable Flash Player from your PC

the 2 files need to be renamed after download:

disable-flash.REG
and
enable-flash.REG

they are registry files

these files do not delete cookies or flash objects.
They disable Flash altogether (or re-enable it)
This shuts down the machinery which creates and manages the cookies in the first place.
But you have to go to the folder below and delete everything first....

I run the "disable " file to effectlively prevent any Flash acivity on my PC.
flash cookies are not received and stored, because they require the Flash executables to be up and running, and these are not.

I run the "enable" file whenever I really need to see some flash video that I cannot do without, but mostly I leave flash off.

to confirm what flash objects are being stored, go to:
C:\
documents and settings\
[username] \
Application Data\
Macromedia\
Flash Player\
#Shared Objects\
XXXXX\ (unique number)

you can put a shortcut to that folder on your desktop to check it as often as you like

Web Sites will start to tell you that you do not have flash installed, and you need to download and install it....DON'T !!

You have it, it's just disabled.

Abstain from viewing "enhanced content" from now on, if you want to be a stealth player

Note that eBay seller dashboard required flash, and will not display without it.
I check the dashboard once a month, and then I briefly enable - than disable Flash.

Close all browsers between these actions

Rather than disabling flash altogether, what I do is change the two folders where eBay (and others) put flash cookies from "read/write" to "read only." That prevents anything new from being written there. Of course I delete the cookies already stored there, first.

I don't know how to do this on a PC. On a Mac, the two folders are:

username/Library/Preferences/Macromedia/FlashPlayer/#SharedObjects/XXXXXXX/

username/Library/Preferences/Macromedia/FlashPlayer/macromedia.com/support/flashplayer/sys/

I used "Get Info" (Cmd-I) to set these folders to "read only." On a PC I guess it would be "Properties" but I don't know if Windows lets you do this.

So far I have not had a problem seeing my Seller Dashboard or posting listings through a third party using tokens, or using "relist" from within My eBay. Flash seems to work, but no Flash cookies are allowed to be created. I'm sure there are situations where Flash won't work without cookies, but I haven't run into one yet.

Is disabling flash player a good thing, or will it make eBay suspicious?

JohnnyBeGoode, that's some great advice there, I might have to try it.

Disabling Flash makes you look like you don't have Flash installed.

Interfering with Flash cookies by preventing Writing or deleting them makes you look like you have willfully done something.

Which is more suspicious?

I just gave you another way to do it, another tool at your disposal.

In any case, I believe that for account longevity and scaleability, you would need to always have the "WEB-4". the 4 web diagnostics , coming into every eBay / paypal session:

1. all the browser cookies from the previous session.

2. all the Flash objects from previous session

3. same IP as last time,

4. enable web bugs in email by reading all ebay /paypal mail in HTML with graphics.

If you are using just one account, this should not be difficult to do.

If you are are using separate Windows USER PROFILES for multiple identities, then 1,2,and 4, should be possible.

Coming into eBay with all 4 things disabled is like walking into someone's home wearing a black face mask, and expecting them to trust you.

Sick, would you suggest that this is for the experts? If so please add a warning to your posts to that effect. There are many users here whose levels of expertise would prevent their doing this. A failed attempt could create troubles for them.

It depends on your situation

If you are running just ONE stealth account
( you made a mistake, got suspended, now you're sorry, and want to be a good boy, with ONE account, and that's all)

then going with the WEB-4 should be no problem, after you read Aspkin's book.

PROVIDED YOU NEVER LOG INTO OLD ACCOUNTS AGAIN !!!!!
AND YOU CLOSE OLD EMAIL ACCOUNTS SO NO OLD EMAIL EVER REACHES YOUR INBOX

Now, if you want to run multiple identities simultaneously,
then I am not your advisor,

Read Aspkin's book...
read the whole forum (all the postings, and then some)...
also have a very thorough knowledge of yourself, your shortcomings and your limitations...
Also high level of discipline and IQ helps.

You'll have to be your own coach every minute of every day.

If you're a novice, then I think you should not be running multiple identities.
