Default Can You Be Featured and Not a Professional Seller?

I was wondering if anyone has become featured without ever creating a professional account? I would like to have a few featured dormant gold accounts.. but obviously would prefer to not have to pay the professional seller fee for dormant accounts. As an alternative, would it work out to be professional to start, then switch to "individual" seller (or whatever it's called) while keeping featured status? thanks!

I think one of the requirements to become featured is being a pro seller, so no

Okay, I thought that might have been the case. But if there is a chance that anyone reduced from pro to individual and kept featured status, I would love to hear about it :-)

you realize what kind of money you make being featured right? Why would you go back when you are there. Plus by the time you are featured you have been through several reviews and provided your tax info to amazon...

OP wants the perks of being featured but not the hassle and expectations of a pro seller - nice to be able to have the cake and eat it too but Amazon will not let that happen in most cases

Why do I see sellers with 100 ratings and 94 percent positive feedback as featured sellers?

You only get featured if 1 you are a big fish or two you sell a lot or 3 you use FBA kelly441.. So either of those has to be accomplished.

I see sellers like this all the time. Couple hundred feedbacks, 95 96 percent and they are NOT FBA

I wonder if they requested to be upgraded to featured merchant with only 100 feedbacks or so and then they got hit with negatives.

there is no set reasoning for becoming featured. My latest account achieved it after 125 feedback, the one before that only took around 40. Also a competitor who ships from china and only has 8 feedback recently became featured. After seeing that I gave up trying to figure it out.

Barry,
You did not ask Amazon to make you featured? Do they send you an email telling you or did you just figure it out?

I asked them plenty of times, but they always sent some version of a generic message explaining how it is not controlled by them. Im pretty certain that those emails had no impact.

I also did not get an email to let me know, either time. My buy box percentage started creeping up from zero then one day I changed some prices about and each and every item was in the buy box. Im not sure if this is a thing but I had to adjust the price of each item, only by a penny but this had to be done for my items to become eligible.

there were some other things that I did. I cant say for sure if they had an impact but I got featured the month after implementing them. I dont want to put them on here for obvious reasons.

Both my accounts are featured. One with 250 feedback and my other one with over 2500 feedback.

I sell a lot and from what ive seen that is what get us normal ppl featured.

My friend got featured at 40 feedback but he was selling 15k a month. Its just a pain to get feedback on amazon and I think amazon knows this.
