AVS = Address Verification System, it matches the address you entered on paypal to the address on the card you have entered.

If it fails it fails, nothing really happens but you should be sure not to enter a card that will fail multiple times.

i will go a step further and say it is only the postcode that matters in the u.k

Postcode needs to match that of the card.

when ordering thing online i have put goofy details thousands of times and the only time i get a problem is when post code does not match.

unless its EP , then its still fine.

i have limites removed and not neded to provide ID when using a card with matching postcode.
