Quick way for some to get a new number with some free minutes.

Here is a trick you can do to grab some free minutes and a number in an emergency. It won't work for everyone so YMMV.

If you have an old Verizon phone you can use Pageplus Open an account and through their CS chat ask for the phone to be added to your account. You'll get 20 minutes or so which is good for I think 90 days. Then if you need more minutes, you can buy a block for $10 which lasts a year, if I'm correct.

Now the phone I used was on Pageplus at some time so doing it more than once might work but haven't tried it. Might work better if there are two phones and you switch them out in between.

It says there is a $10 fee to do this on checkout but I was able to avoid by using the chat box.

Don't abuse it. They're a legit Verizon reseller with great prices.

Bought a bunch recently for 5$ and 20 minutes free. Much better deal than VM in the past years.

Or if you have a smart phone there are a bunch of free apps that will give you a free number and for $5 you can get like 100 minutes that's what I use. You can ever get it forwarded to you own number.
