21 day hold on non ebay transaction for new paypal accounts?

Hi there,

Just curious, with paypal accounts which are only like 2-4 weeks old, does the 21 day hold rule apply on accounts on non-ebay transactions i.e, through invoices created via paypal and nothing to do with ebay sales?

I haven't experienced any holds on sales outside of eBay, however they can be implemented on any account for any reason. I would always try and receive smaller payments to build history on the account first before going mad.

I don't sell on eB and I have no holds on my new accounts. (Yet!)

I'm assuming US accounts are different to UK accounts (correct me if i'm not wrong)

Does anybody with a new UK paypal account (2-4 weeks) which have successfully received money from a non ebay transaction without the 21 day hold?

most new accounts in UK get 21 day hold, but occasionally you do not get them - not sure why......assume you will get them and sell for 3 months, low cost items and it is likely the holds will disappear.....

or just ship from eBay UK labels, add tracking and have your funds within 2-3 days....

They can't, lol. Same principal for uploading tracking to PayPal.

Paypal can have this hold on any transaction - older pp's of mine have no holds...also I have had no holds on recent pp's that do not touch eb in any manner
