Default fastest way to get back to standard

i am currently below standard based on the new "defect" evaluations came into force on my business ebay account

11% defects (130 out of 1100 items)

i wanted to know if anyone has any advice to get out of below standard and back to standard by my next evaluation october 20th?

any ideas?

i was thinking of getting 50 people wih 50 diff ebay accounts to buy some 1£ things from me and leave positive feedback with 5 star ratings.

If you sold 50 items your defect score would still be 11%

You need to sell another 1500 items without a defect to get your score down to 4.8% defects which is just scraping it.

It's impossible for you to get back to standard based on those stats. What have you been doing to get your defect score that high!?

Your account is doomed. I would seriously look at what you have been doing to get a defect score that high. You'll have to accept the ban and move on.

Sorry to say it.

are you sure mate?

11% of the (roughly) 1100 items within the last 12months is roughly 110
to get my account back to standard i need at least another 50 with pos feedback/ratings without defects?

long story, ive had 25 cases as item not recieved opened, which were subsequently closed and this is still being reflected under my account i dont know why.
also some of these cases the buyers failed to sign for the item and hence it came back to me and a item not recived case was opened.

ive had people leave low ratings for item as desceried to approx 40

i dont think thats the case, my account is still redeemable i still have my monthly selling allowances of £150,000 in value left on it without any restrictions, cant remember the number of items per month im allowed to sell but its quite alot.

No, he is right you would still be at 11%. The calculation is correct you need to sell 1500 items without any issues to be exactly on 5%. If you get any defects, it will need even more. I would say start making stealth accounts.

If you sell more than 400 items in 3 months period than you are only evaluated based on your performance in the last 3 months.
If you sell more than 400 in 3 months time than ebay will evaluate you only based on your performance over last 3 months. Are you anywhere close to this number? If you are than just sell 100, 200 cheap and popular items to match it and you should be safe.

I don't understand how it's calculated now, but it's not just the 3 months thing. I have an account with 1 defect in the past month which is way less than 1%, and my score is still at 3.57%.

Perhaps you don't need 1500, but it's still higher than based on 3 months only.

It all depends when he got all his defects.
Lets say he doesnt sell more than 400 items over 3 months period than on his evaluation ebay will count all defects from last 12 months.
If he sold 200 items in the last 3 months time than he needs to sell 200 items more before next evaluation and he will be scored only based on his last 3 months performance. You can even become Top rated if you do it right

True, the account i'm talking about will be top rated next month and I saved it from being over the defect rate, but accounts that go into the red get lower search results.

His account averages 110 sales a month when it's fine, so he would need 133 without any defects with worse search results. Some idiots always open cases and other things, so he probably needs around 150-160 a month min.

The problem too is eBay. The account I had was 2 weeks away from the 3 month mark and I had already done enough to get back to normal, then they sent a message stating my listing limits had been more than halved.

Copied from eBay:
Quote:
Look-back time remains the same
Your evaluation will continue to take place on the 20th of the month with the new performance measurement applied in August. It’ll be based on your performance over the same time period as it is today – 3 months for sellers with 400 or more transactions over the previous 3 months, 12 months for all other sellers.
If you strugle every month with your performance I would recomend to sell cheap items on daily basis to increase your transaction number and decrease defect rate. It really helps! Just make sure this cheap item is good quality too otherwise it won't work. If you need ideas what to sell than feel free to PM me.

yes that would be ok for me as in the last 3 months ive had no defects. i need to get back to the3 month evaluation as the 12 month is doing me over.

this is what i was thinking of doing, get 50 people with 50 ebay accounts to buy a 1£ item and get them to leave feedback for me, one item over a period of 4 weeks. i obviously wont be delivering anything, and dont mind paying the fvf.

50 x 4 weeks = 200 feedbacks without defects.

id do it the other way and ACTUALLY sell a cheap item but its going to take too long this way and id rather all people who left the feebdack be in on it and garianteed no defetcs.

id be willing to pay 50p per feedback as an incentive.

How are you going to get 50 people to do this? Do you know all these people?

The alternative like mentioned is to get on a 3 month evaluation. If you have had no defects in the last 3 months then it will be easier. But you would need to stay on the 3 month evaluation to stay safe. So consistenly sell 400 items over a 3 month period for the next year (to be sure you don't fall back in to a 12 month, and your old defects would count again)

You would need to sell cheap items that sell well and quickly and get a VERY low amount of defects.

If you think you can do that then you should give it a go. It will require a lot of hard work.

No one here will be able to help as we would be identifying our accounts in the process.

oh anotehr question i had.

if ive sold an item and no longer have it in stock i would need to cancel the transactio...the new rules mean this counts as a defect, which id like to avoid.

anyone have any way around this?

i was thinking just to send the cancel transaction request through as a "buyer changed mind or purchased by mistake" reason? would this be ok if the buyer agrees to it that is?

Nah, you can start right away. Do dropshipping.
Here is what I used to sell

IN EAR EARPHONES HEADPHONE METAL NOISE ISOLATING FOR MP3 MUSIC BLACK | eBay (unsafe link)

Sell these for £1.99 or less and you will sell plenty.
Its just an example- there is many more items that will work
