Can I open a savings account in any name?

To get a new ebay and PayPal account I need a new name and bank account but how do you get round the name change on bank account can you open a savings account in any name in UK?

There are plenty of banks that accept mismatched names :-)

Thinkmoney or CO-OP is easy to open online and avoid some high street banks like TSB, Lloyds, Halifax and Tesco these have been disappointing for me but can work for others

Its so confusing
Halifax works good for me plus their savers but had a nightmare with getting code for nationwide savers.

I agree...Like you say, its trial and error. What works for some might not work for another.
Nationwide basic account is good and many say that HSBC is good. Santander too, i believe :-)
