Ebay couldn't match my name and address with public records. Help
Hello, I just set up a stealth account using a variation of my name, the address of an abandoned house (I couldn't use the address of a friend/relative/whatever), google voice number, etc etc. I went to a public library to create my account. When I tried to list an item, I discovered that I had a limit on my account of $0--I couldn't list anything. I tried to get it lifted through live chat but was told that I would have to call in. So I called in and talked to a guy (clearly extremely suspicious) who said that they could not match my name and address to public records. He asked me if I lived there long. I said that I just moved in. He asked me where I lived before. I gave an aunt's address. I don't think that worked because he told me he still couldn't match it. He asked me what I would be selling, etc. and finally said that he would give me a 1,000 limit on my account for 30 days after which point, I could find out about making it higher. When I call in 30 days to raise my limit, what will happen? Will they make a stink about my information not matching? What should I say when they tell me they still can't find me in the database? I read the Stealth Book and having to have information match to the public database was never mentioned. I was not banned from ebay--i have a decade old account. I just wanted to open another one and now I'm afraid of being linked through my aunt?
