Activity: 0% Longevity: 65% | | What would you do if USPS (Post Office) doesn't scan at acceptance?
Every month there's 15-20 packages not scanned at acceptance by Post Office.
Doesn't matter drop at bin box or given to clerks.
Sometimes they don't scan it for a whole freaking week, then scanned it after 7-10 days at destionation zip code upon delivery..
So customers complained I didn't ship and open a load of "item not received" requests ... it drops my ebay listing search ranking...
Everything I sell is legit, but Post Office is bringing me down...
How do you guys deal with it?

Yes, that's a really hopeless Post Office, and as for leaving it a week sometimes before items get scanned!

Go to a post office in a business district, they're much more attentive when there are a lot of big companies there doing business.

This has happened to me too... even if ebay hadn't screwed me and limited my account, the acceptance scan within 24 hours would have... I dropped below 90% because my post office doesn't always scan at acceptance, and first class parcels are not guaranteed tracking at every step, only 'guaranteed' scan is upon delivery

Case opened, buyer refunded immediately by eBay for non-delivery.. was delivered a week later. (VERY late, but USPS fault.. item was sent same day)

The best way to get your items scanned at acceptance - and I am assuming you have a volume of items, like 10+ per day - would be to generate a SCAN form. This allows the clerk to scan all of your packages by scanning ONE barcode on the SCAN form.

same here got 10 accounts with 10 items a day to scan even a scan form wouldnt work i jsut stand in line tell the clerk that i been dropping them in the box and they never get scanned in . i just had to refund over 100.00 because the tracking never showed up . You called usps number and the post master said to get a receipt of acceptance to show you did your part . this will get them to do their job do that a few times to be sure that every clerk understands then i start using the dropbox again and keep a close eye on any not being scanned in . if it happens again talk to your local post master about the clerks costing your business name and profit loss . I go thru this every time i move

Stop printing labels off ebay. Use shipstation, stamps or endicia and print off your scan form. Operate like a business and these problems go away.
It also makes you a heck of a lot more efficient with batch printing and even packages that actually did not get shipped show a scan the same day.

Also, you can take Yankee's advice.... | Yea my local PO is very small town in fears of being closed down after i got on their butts about getting things scanned in . A few weeks later she told me she puts mine off to the side then when they are slow she will scan and print a receipt for every package to show clerk usage end of day total transactions would be higher . I drop 100 + scan packages every day and on mondays i have dropped off 400+ on them lol
but it was a rocky start i went up their one time smelling like tweeds she even smelt my shippments i got a laugh out of it but also knew she was going to be a challenge ,, "now we r buddies " after the xmas cards and gift cards handed out to the clerks and our local mail lady . That is some of the best advise one can offer !!

yankee,
The OP is to move into his local PO and just used good old fashioned long hand for the labels.
Obviously this is in vogue north of the border.
What is a couple of hundred hand written labels after all | |

What is a couple of hundred hand written labels after all | and even then, WHAT does it have to do with this thread about scanning packages? LOL
First off, hand writing anything is being incompetent in the USA. Second of all, this thread is all about USPS scanning barcodes on the LABELS that have already been printed. So what is he suggesting being written? A letter complaining about USPS employees not scanning packages? lf so, I still suggest typing....
