Default Anyone know how to close a paypal claim/dispute?

After I resolve the issue with the buyer and send him his partial refund through paypal directly, does anyone know how the claim case gets closed??
Does the buyer close it?
Thanks

Was this a claim opened on ebay or on paypal?
Usually if the refund was done in agreement with the buyer the dispute should close automatically. If you did the refund manually then the person who opened the dispute will need to close it manually.

It will close automatically after a few days, and disappear from your resolution center when it does.

Thnx Phaz0rz, this would not count as a defect or "cases closed without seller res" right?

Nah, it won't count since it was a Paypal case.

Even if it were an Ebay case it wouldn't count as a defect since you resolved things with the buyer without 3rd party intervention.

Got it, however there WAS another case from paypal..and this one was a "claim." For this one (the claim), I got a message from ebay that stated "the return has been closed due to a dispute being opened for the same item on paypal"....so I log into my paypal..go to res. center to check it out, and it SEEMS like its a claim.

Now, I did solve the issue for this with the buyer today and sent him the partial refund, but would this one count as a defect then?

When I check my seller dashboard for "cases closed without seller resolution" for "if you were evaluated today" it still says 0...which is good...so I am not really sure.

Just curious, have you ever had a case opened prior to going stealth?

It's not going to show up in Ebay, don't worry.

Ebay only counts that defect if an Ebay employee is forced to take time out of their busy day to resolve a problem you are having with a buyer. As long as you reach a resolution on your own, there's no defect.

But regardless, Paypal cases/claims/chargebacks do not count against you in Ebay.

Then next time, put the thread in the PAYPAL Part of the forum.

Have a think about adding it to your existing thread on the topic too if this is the same buyer.

Makes it easier for posters replying to be able to see the whole history of the claim/refund etc.
