Buyer from a, Sth America, through GSP!
 

Ok iu have had many first ever 'buyer' Fromm Columbia, South America, he hasn't paid!, I messaged him directly through the contact buyer button, and amazingly he replied, I mean if they don't pay they don't usually respond to messages do they! But this guy has been replying. I pointed out it looked like his first ever eBay purchase as he had no history or feedback showing, he sad he had been using a local system to do his purchasing and had just decided to start going it alone. He says he has paid but it is under review that's why it is not showing in my PayPal.

Anyway, I have just phoned eBay to check this out as it came through the Global Shipping Programme. They said he hasn't paid or there is nothing that they can see. I have just posted this here as an example of what can happen with buyers from South America even if they do come through the Global Shipping t doesn't mean of course that they understand the way the system works and they need to pay straight away.

If he had paid and it went under 'review' then you would still have the eggcup symbol showing on ebay where your £ or $ sign is usually showing paid.

Looks like a case is coming..

I cancelled the order and messaged the guy that if he wants to start buying on eBay he has to learn that payments have to made as soon as auctions or buy it now' send, not days later or whenever he sees fit to pay up. He didn't reply back this time which was interesting in itself because several messages were going to and fro between us yesterday evening when he was saying he had paid, soon as he heard I had been checking up on him with eBay he went quiet!

I think it was a scam.

'under review' is a real thng that you would see on paypal, and you get notified...I get them for high value stuff mainly...and it has always cleared, but for buyer to know about the term under review, possibly means they were trying to kid you in to sending somehow......

or maybe I am just a cynical gossip...

Yes I think you are right oompa, it's all just a little to coincidental for him to suddenly go so quiet after he thinks I've been checking up on him.

I would have let it gone into a case, since he can still leave you negative feedback if you cancel, however with case it gets removed if he does.
