Unverified phone number on PayPal
 

Hello,

I just added a phone number to italian PayPal but I couldn't get a sms with confirmation code. Called to them and asked to verify it manually because I called from the added phone number. I was told to delete and re-enter it but then - same problem.

Supporter told me that it happens and it is fine to use Paypal even with unconfirmed phone number. Can anyone confirm if it's true?

I have plenty of accounts with unconfirmed numbers working just fine.
Set the phone number as a landline - not everyone has a cellphone attached to paypal and landlines cannot receive text messages anyway.

Same here. Operated my 1st account which generated 1000s without a confirmed #. Never had an issue. However, for stealth account i would have one just to be on the safe side.

Thanks for comfirming. I can't receive sms but number is active, I can receive calls or call ebay or paypal

Yes, I confirm. Several accounts with unconfirmed number works without any issue.

Never received a call from them anyway but request to verify with SMS is sometime triggered when adding bank account.

Thank you. I hope I won't need to confirm anything with SMS since I can't receive it :D

That's used if your going to be moving money from the actual phone with the PayPal app.
