Using UK PayPal with US eBay
 

Dear fellows,

I reckon its been answered before by James and other respected members. Just that needed some reassure that I wouldn't be doing something that would lead to a disaster.

Nothing has gone wrong, just a personal need to abandon an stealth 2 years old US PP account that is being used with an equally old and strong stealth US ebay account. If I were to use a fresh UK PP, what precautions needed to be taken? Does this new UK PP need to have the same name as the previous US PP? anything else? Perhaps looking for some intricate details. Please help, I don't want to lose this mature eBay account. Many thanks

It can be done, but if you ever got a limitation on the US PayPal it could effect the new UK PayPal as they would be linked.

What about name, does it have to be same as the US PP account, pretending as if you moved from US to U.K.?

The name doesn't need to match but it is preferable.

I would personally only over use that combination if the US eBay had been created on it's own without a PayPal ever being made or attached to it.

The risk factor of that US PayPal being limited and affecting the UK one would be too great for me personally - can work well though but be prepared for that dreaded email down the line.

The questions would be whether to close the US PP before attaching a UK PayPal account ? or leave it free ...

Its not going to make a great deal of difference

If you don't need it anymore no harm in closing it
