Bank Not Letting Me Open A Claim

I recently went to the bank today to open a dispute for a transaction I did not receive. I told her the bank teller that I needed to open a dispute on a transaction but she did not know what I was talking about. She called the manager and she told me she could not open a dispute since I have authorized the payment. I told her that I did not receive the item but she told me that there is nothing she could do. I paid for the item via paypal through my BMO bank account. What should I do?

Shouldn't you be filing a dispute through PayPal?

Here is the full problem:
My paypal account got limited, and I sent money to some guy. The guy canceled the e-check, putting a large sum of money into my limited paypal account. I wanted to open a dispute through my bank so paypal deposits the money back to my bank.

Yozalo, I understand your problem and the only thing I can think of would be to contact previous buyers and ask them to send the money to another account, if you refund them. Its possible a few might not pay you but its up to to you if you would rather wait the 180 days.

I did not receive money, I sent money which the guy had canceled the e-check.

I know, I fully understand what your saying. I'm saying, do you have any people that have bought from you with that paypal account before? If you do then reread my last post and maybe it will make better sense. :D

yeah what lakeman said, or wait 180 days. not a lot you can do on bank transfers.

Your bank is yanking your chain...If your with a major bank jsut call the 800 # instead

BMO, is a major bank. I did sell but I am not really worried about that. I just want the e-check to go back in my bank since it has fairly large payment.

I sent a echeck to a seller and my account got limited and funds went into the paypal account and I called and complained to a manager at paypal and they put the funds back in my bank account

If you paid by echeck the refund should of gone back to your bank. I would call paypal. If that doesnt work call the 800 number for your bank. You should be able to open a claim. Sometimes the peaople that work at the bank dont have a clue or cant be bothered. Good luck

Burning 05-09-2009 10:01 AM

I will try calling the bank, if they do not open a claim I will call paypal.

Bank can only do a "not authorized" for echeck. That's all they can do. That's how echecks are.

Yozalo, did you get this resolved?
