New Vs. 30-Day old Accounts

I've been noticing when I use fresh accounts to sell on, as soon as I get to a bit over $1,000 in sales, my account gets canned. I don't know how this goes with everyone else, but my account usually never makes it to the 30 day mark.

I've noticed that 30-day old accounts however seem to last longer, well into the $2k+ range.

My items I sell usually go for a bit over $100. I always give SCO's to under-bidders and my PayPal account is always the first to get limited, followed by my eBay account a few minutes after. I list 1 item every 3-5 days.

Anyone having different results? Any other positives/negatives you've noticed?

They must be linking you somehow, and maybe you start selling too soon. Try to buy first few things, wait 30 days min and start listing slow. I hear its a good idea (by GreenBean) to open PayPal first, get verified, all limitations lifted and than Ebay after a month or so.

It sounds like the items you are listing are to expensive for a new account and/or are high risk items.

I listed 1000 items with turbo lister on a one day old
Account with zero feedback, no promblems yet. Paypal
Account is vertified before I listed. I sell electronics.

I find that pretty impossible. I've spoken with several eBay employees who have all confirmed ALL accounts have listing limits and they increase as your account ages and you gain feedback.

I've actually tested it a few times, it seems after 50 or so I soon get an email.

I doubt it's either. Like I've said, at about $1200 they suspend me on a newer account and somewhere between $2,000-$4,000 on a 30-day old account. I list 1 time every 3-5 days which seems slow enough to me, but I might be wrong. My accounts usually last 2-4 weeks before PayPal limits them.

Do you have a link to Greenbeans thread? I would like to read his/her theory.

^^^^ There's part of the answer to your opening post. No way can any account take listing items of $100 without being mature/aged.

It takes them fine for a few weeks and then PayPal limits the account. I haven't had a problem with them on eBay and I start them at $0.99.

All new accounts are under extra scrutiny and you must be making a mistake somewhere or you would not get suspended so soon. They are linking you to suspended accounts, I doubt its amount of sale you have, or money that goes through your paypal. It's not that much or too often.

How should I be going? What if I drop the SCO's? Starting at $.99 I thought was a good thing. Isn't listing high items what causes flagging?

My account ended with the 1000 items, sold 720 of the items. Over Half of them has
the 21 day hold on them. Called paypal and they said send the tracking numbers and they will be lifted within 3 days.

paypal always holds money till feedback. even when i enter tracking info and it shows delivered, paypal does not release if customer hasn't left feedback. i guess they'll release if contact support?

what is the reason they give you for suspension

Never keep more than 500 on a new account. Withdraw until youre at a low dollar amount. Or an account that isnt used to getting payments regularly.

Thats asking to get limited.

i've run about 2500 through a 45 day old account. about 14 auctions $200 each. paypal applied 21 day hold except for the last 3. "feels" like they're getting used to the activity. i clean it out as soon as funds are available. so far so good.

It is always my PayPal that gets suspended first, followed a few minutes later by my eBay account. It's the ol' Notification of Limited Account Access OMARCP, aka:

Dear [Your Name],

As part of our efforts to provide a safe and secure environment for the
online community, we regularly screen account activity. While reviewing
your PayPal and eBay accounts, we observed activity that we would like to
further verify. For this reason, limitations have been placed on your
account(s) until we are able to gather some additional information from you.

use of your account does not present a safety risk to our service and
customers, we'll be happy to reinstate your account.

yeah I get that one a lot too. thats why you gotta go slow. stay under 500 or so first month on each account and gradually work up. If I need quick cash I run an account full blast for a month hit a G paypal locks it up. refund the payments I couldn't get out let the buyers know why give them a chance to buy outside ebay and move on. (I don't add bank account to these)

and to agree with you again. I've let accounts sit to age a month and gotten up to 2G's out before they limit them. On those I always have a checking account attached.

Paypal is kinda strange. I guess it really depends on your average ticket price as to how much you can pull in before you get limited. If your pulling 20 dollar items seems you get hit at a lower cash level than if you start out with $100 items then it seems people are able to get a little more monetary wise out of an account.
