ebay selling rules viewing before sale question.
 

quick question guys. im selling some fancy dress items on ebay, however i had a question off a buyer asking if he could come around to try some of the items im selling before buying.

my question is i dont mind him comming around to try the items on however im unsure if its against ebays rules giving out address before buying on ebay. or its allowed viewing before sale.

i dont want to get restricted for breaking ebays rules. so just wanted to ask...i know its no allowed to give out a phone number as ebay monitor messages but is it allowed on ebay uk to give out address to allow viewing a item before sale ?

what happens if they "try it" without returning it?

Let them try it, if they want it get them to pay cash then just remove the item from ebay.

Of course it's technically against the 'rules' because ebay won't get their cut.

If you're not comfortable doing it then for your own piece of mind just say no.

ok thanks so i take it its not against ebays sellers policy to give out address for viewing before sale?

i thought ebay would not allow it as they could think it could be a sale outside ebay.

they would come to my house to try them on for size.

People do it all the time for cash on collection items. You are supoosed to get the buyer to make the purchase but not pay. Then you mark it as paid once they have handed over the cash. That way ebay still get their cut.

Just post it as 'local pickup only' and then exchange info to complete the sale. Cash is king.

People don't seem to understand, for some reason. The buyer wants to come by and try on the clothes before purchasing. He is worried about getting a red flag for sending the address before the purchase has been made. I would be weary, myself. I don't think that it's worth the risk just to try to get one sale
