Do NOT sell P90X

Product Partners who own P90X hired a firm to act as their legal pitbulls.

They are actually purchasing P90X from sellers on ebay, then using the paypal info to send a cease & desist, a draft 18 page complaint they say they'll file in federal court in 14 days with 6-8 federal & state violations & a demand for $10K-$100K depending on perceived sales volume on ebay along with demands for suppliers, customers, all transactions, etc.

Stay away from vero products in general, but if you're going to do it anyway, stay away from P90X.

thats some bull if you bought it you own it and should be able to sell it off you can fight this if you are forced to go to court .

philly387 06-03-2009 10:44 AM

Just do it under different info other than yours...they can't really do anything then.

lightweight 06-03-2009 02:20 PM

dont list ⊗⊗⊗⊗ P90x under real info is all.........other than that youre golden.....it wont stop people from listing

kingmathyou 06-07-2009 10:19 AM

I actually sold P90Xs on my account and eBay kept taking down my listings saying it was "copyright infringement". My dumbass self kept trying to list it with less info (stock photos, nondetailed description, etc) trying to make them seem legit. eBay soon banned my account for a week suspension. I was furious and in my ebay-down time I came across this beautiful website.

Now I am going to try this stealth thing with an account to sell some things that I can make a little more money from ;)

But back to my P90X... I had x10 of the P90X dvd sets and I couldn't list them on eBay, so I actually put an add up on craigslist for $65 each. They sold like hot cakes and I got $650 cash (no paypal and eBay fees out the ass) on x10 P90X dvds that costed me $250 from a Chinese website. So if you guys are having problems on eBay listing them, you should try craigslist out. I sold all 10 of mine in a week!

Welcome to the forum! :yar:

Just wondering, did you list on craigslist in your local area to meet in person? Or did you ship the items?

kingmathyou 06-07-2009 12:04 PM

I met the people in person but never gave them my address/phone number and I used my backup phony spam email address to arrange everything. Then I just met them locally a few miles down the road at a restaurant. The people typically look at the dvds for a second and then happily hand me $65 cash. Sometimes they ask if it includes nutrition guides or calendar (which the Chinese ones do not), so I play ignorant and tell them I have no idea because they're sealed and I did not want to open the DVDs to see what's inside. I don't normally list things on craigslist but eBay was pissing me off. It worked out better than eBay in the long run so I just wanted to share how I did this with other people since I saw a topic on the same matter.

Thanks for the welcome! I love this place already!

has anyone emailed you and complained after they got it??? is it 100 percent fully functional?

vzg 06-08-2009 08:47 AM

They have 2 versions from china: black box & white box. The black box is easy to spot as not genuine. The white box is pretty much identical to what people get for the 120 + shipping on the infomercials. I have 90 white box that I can't sell because of legal crap going on right now with them.

philly387 06-08-2009 08:50 AM

Just sell it under a stealth account unless ebay is just taking down the listings then its a little harder.

Not yet and I don't think they will either. Everyone seems to think that they're getting a great deal, so they don't have any reason to complain. I am going to order 10 more and sell them on craigslist again. It worked out really well the first time around.

As for selling them on a stealth account... I don't really think it's worth it since they're trying to crack down on the P90Xs on eBay. But hey, if you can figure out a way to list them without getting them booted, more power to ya!:thumb:

BooMer 06-08-2009 03:30 PM

I bought the P90X DVD set back in 2008 and my only intentions when I received it was to Copy it for my personal use and then re-sale the set on ebay. I did have problems with the set that I received because the 12th DVD Disc did not play or record properly which made me think I got a Knock_OFF Version plus I didn't get the Calender or Guide that suppose to come with it. I later sold it on Craiglist for $90. The sellers who keeps getting their Products taken down by Ebay is Probably Selling Knock_OFF versions.
I personally don't mind buying Knockoff version of DVDs but I do mind when it is advertised as REAL.

You'll understand if I don't give any further personally identifyable information as they could have a membership here & we wouldn't even know it.

jbluntz 02-26-2010 02:06 AM

How about insanity?

bluehorse 02-28-2010 07:46 PM

Insanity is produced by the same company as p90x, so same problem. In general, it's a bad idea to sell ANY infomercial products on eb, but especially exercise/workout programs. But Craigslist works great for these items. If you go the CL route, be prepared to have your ad(s) taken down from time to time. And it's a good idea to be stealthy on CL as well, ie use diff email addy's and ip addresses after every few posts.

jbluntz 02-28-2010 08:17 PM

I did the craigslist thing before, I don't like the idea of showing my face all over town selling this stuff, you never know when you might run into an undercover or maybe a past buyer reports you and could buy from you again even though you have different email ad and phone#.

IDK 03-01-2010 12:47 AM

If you sell more than 3 copies of P90x, you can pretty much kiss your account goodbye, and guess what? eBay wont do a thing. It will be Paypal that hits you with a limitation. Things were better when Featured First was available. I sold 17 in one day because eBay cows tend to buy the first thing they see. That's why Paypal does eBay's dirty work and limit you because with a violation you still had time to get your money out. Now with no FF they can stop you before you generate mass sales. And on top of that you can get sued out of your boots... Not worth it. You've been warned.

jbluntz 03-01-2010 02:25 AM

But if you got 100 accounts you can sell just 1 on each account every now and then and screw them out there boots instead and become a beach body coach all at the same time.
