Jan 2nd and Paypal hasn't reset?

I thought on Jan 1st paypal reset and LIMITED ACCOUNT because of SALES Tax Updating would be re-opened. I'm waiting on 5 accounts to be re-opened. Anyone else having this problem?

Re: Jan 2nd and Paypal hasn't reset?

Yeah. Give it a few weeks. Unless something has changed since 2016 and 2017 they will reset soon. People on the forums a few years ago used to swear by accounts resetting towards the end of January.

I was one of the ones saying 1/1/18 so I'll stand up and say I was wrong. But I can say for certain my tax-limited PP's have reset in years past.

If you don't see this reopened by end of the week, you might wanna give them a call.

Not all accounts will be reopened for the tax issue on first of the year.

I have a stealth account limited due to sales tax updating as of 3rd week of December. Provide EIN or upgrade to bus acct. I am nowhere near the 200 items / $20K limit. I can't send or receive. However they had no problems pulling money from my checking account end of Dec. for EB fees - then NOT sending the fees to EB. Its showing in my balance. Unbelievable! Should I call or wait it out?

Like I said, do you have back up accounts ready to go while you wait for this one?

I'll send you a PM as soon as they reset. I'm not bull****ting you about accounts resetting annually.

I think most of us are eagerly waiting for them to reset. Tried accepting payment a few days ago and still wasn't able to.

I remember reading towards the end of January they reset. Wishing you all a profitable 2018!

wait, i thought it reset automatically the first day of 2018. How do you find out it has been reset or not ?

For whomever's keeping score, mine still hasn't reset as of just now. Anxiously awaiting the reset lol...

Re: Jan 2nd and Paypal hasn't reset?

There were new payment regulations put in 2017 with standard guidelines for reset on January 31, 2018 given they should issue the 1099 by that date. So if the account has not had the 1099 issued it may be locked until that time.

Re: Jan 2nd and Paypal hasn't reset?

That was very informative insight. Thank you for telling us. I guess waiting like phaz0rz, rsot, and SaiJin have previously expressed is the most appropriate avenue. I guess its kinda like watching paint dry but longer. Good time to acquire more accounts..

Mine has not reset either, and thank you Gladiator for that update!

Re: Jan 2nd and Paypal hasn't reset?

You're welcome.

I believe Phaz0rz mentioned something similar in a thread last year:

https://www.aspkin.com/forums/paypal...-tax-year.html

In one of their posts they didn't get the reset until they got the 1099. In January of 2017 the IRS issued their official commentary on reset/guidelines for the 200/20,000 and it goes over the 1099 issuance usually being the trigger for payment gateways to reset, so that's probably what is going on with you guys.

Thank you Gladiator. 2017 was a crazy year. I couldn't remember exactly how it went, but I knew my tax limited accounts reset the next year.

I was lying in bed last night and thought to myself "it's when the tax forms go out!" but I couldn't be bothered to come on here and post about it.

1/12 After reading this post and the links you provided I went back to eB and PP and reassessed my situation. According to eB, my "eB email address cannot be used for PP payments at this time." Since I got limited of course. On PP, i was originally limited and could not send payments, receive payments, transfer funds, etc. until I confirmed my SS or TIN (even though they took an echeck out of my account for eB fees during this time which they didn't pay). Now I notice that I am able to do everything except receive incoming payments – and all checkmarks except one are green. Send, pay, transfer. So I transferred a significant amount of the funds to my checking account. I have located 2 different notices but only the red (1) shows on the top right. One notice says "Confirm your tax id" while the other says "your tax info needs updating". Neither of these pop up when I log into PP and I basically have to go looking for them. So perhaps they are in the process of sending the 1099-K’s out and about to perform the reset. I confirmed deposit in my account this morning. Cautiously optimistic!!

1/15 Well fast forward to today I received a large payment into my PP account for a sale purchased during the limitation that could not be processed previously. First payment received since way before Xmas. As many have said, the red dot is still on the bell sign in the corner of my PP account however the funds I just received are available for withdrawal. I have also checked my eB account and its back to normal! Yay for me!

Side notes: #1 I have 9 pending sales where people have purchased but not been able to pay – and have decided to wait until we were able to resolve the issue. #2 my eB selling fees usually debit from PP – well at the end of the month PP pulled money from my account to pay for the fees – but never paid the fees – so when the funds became unfrozen I sent that money back to my bank account. #3 My eB fees are due today or the account suspends for nonpayment.

So I owe money to eB and they know that people are trying to pay me more than enough to pay the fees which are never late – however due to the limitation I couldn’t pay how I pay traditionally – and they weren’t going to get paid unless they restored the account so they could get paid. Could it all be connected? I dunno but its highly suspicious that all of a sudden right before collection activity my account becomes good again.

So the rest of you waiting may want to check again – or check closer to when your fees are being posted. Could be coincidence or could be lifting limitations at this time.
