Buyer received Amazon FireStick, now asking for Amazon Pin

Sold an Amazon HD Firstick, buyer after a few days sent me the following message

'i bought fire stick from you,can you please send me amazon pin as fire stick is locked,or i can send it back to you for a refund'

The Firestick I'm sure was sent out factory reset and in the worse case scenario that it was not, can the buyer factory reset the Firestick himself and set up his own code?

I feel the buyer is simply looking at an excuse to send the item back:doh:

The buyer has had the item for 2 weeks and only sent me the above message yesterday!!

UPDATE!!

Buyer has opened a dispute, with

Reason

Doesn't work or is defective

Comments
item is locked needs amazon pin to open it,i have asked seller for pin to open item ,but have not got a reply.

Shall i simply reply back to the buyer

'Firsetick

Scroll to SETTINGS on your firetv, then go to device, then scroll all the way to the bottom, then click RESET to

factory defaults, then click RESET, will take 10-15 mins'

I mean he has had the item for 14 days and only now claims he needs the PIN, something it doesn't feel right, why wait 14 days, he's pulling a sly one, please help me refuse the claim

Re: Buyer received Amazon FireStick, now asking for Amazon Pin

Give them the instructions and see if they can follow.

You sound like you do not know for sure if a pin is needed or not - It might need one and they are telling the truth.

As for 14 days, loads of people do not get round to trying something

I get way more unreasonable stuff then that on amazon and ebay all the time, and just process the return or refund, without getting involved in 'how it feels wrong' and ending up with a case that affects metrics and you will never win anyway regardless.......

I’ll give them the instructions to factory reset the Firestick and explain they need an Amazon of their own to use it.
