change id to avoid ex buyer/stalker?
 

problem is about 6 months ago had a very silly SND which paypal sided with me about (shows how unreasonable it was), she was obviously odd, just by the way she wrote hysterically. Buyer didnt leave feedback but emailed me saying she would watch my auctions from now on (veiled threat!)

Every vero item ive listed, and its hardly any, maybe one every 2 months gets immediate take-down as soon as appears. Cant be sure but think shes got me on favourites..

If I change my user id and wait 30 days, can she trace me still, given she has the email links to prior id etc, if she clicks on those will it convert to new id or not? Can I shake this psycho off?

Well , you can look up her address from 6 months ago- Since she bought from you before and you should have it from your records. Then write her a very polite letter asking her to stop. Very politely. And of course sprinkle some Anthrax on it. That should do the trick. No more psycho. :dance:

Even with changing your ID, who is to say that the stalker will not 'surf' for the item itself? Are you in a position to not list the item for several months and pretend you have stopped?:peace:

Also, if you change your id, I believe the 21 day hold will come back for some time. Its happened to another seller before.

GB that scenario wont happen as this account is a jumble of different things, no way can be traced via products.

I dont care about 21 day hold, this account is useless if it keeps getting takedowns,

So, can anyone tell me, if she clicks old link, or if she has me as a favourite seller alert, will my new id come up or does changing id cancel that, I cant find answer anywhere...

Can not agree about a stalker not trying to still find you. The stalker I had was ruthless and a complete nutter. Good Luck with whatever you do :peace:

she wont find me believe me not via goods sold, the answer I was wanting was regarding favourites and links after changing id, but no definitive answer from anyone..so stealthyman and I will report back later

Part of your problem might be that if she has 'the ID' as favourites & it disappears, then the fruitloop will go looking for ya. I have done a change of ID as you outlined & the stalker found me.:pout:

Does changing ID actually remove it from everyone's favorites? I'd think it wouldn't.

If you can get it out of the favorites, you'd first want to stop selling for 2 months, only then change ID and also try to get eBay to remove you from everyone's favorites saying there's a stalker, then you start selling 30 days later.

It all depends on how crazy/dedicated your stalker is. I have a stalker from 2007 who is still harassing me and I've changed accounts over 100 times since then. I heard from him last week as a matter of fact.

if she is following me daily she will see id change, if she only has me on favourites for when I list and I dont list til after 30 days then it may be ok, we will see....
