ebay question once won auction.
 

hi guys just a quick question. i recently won a item on ebay and asked the seller if its ok to collect item which he agreed is ok.

just wanted to ask is it ok to ask him for his phone number through ebay.

i know ebay monitor messages and dont allow users asking for contact numbers though messages so just wanted to ask if its within ebays policys to ask for a phone number once you have bought a item on ebay.

was it listed as collection, or is this a special request to collect?
ebay just do not want fees bypassed that is all they care about.......

no it had postage. but as i live in same area i asked him if its ok to come pick it up and he said its ok. i dont want to get a warning off ebay about buying outside ebay. but as i bought item on ebay i thought it was ok to now ask him for his number to collect but as ebay always changing there policys i dont know if its now allowed to ask concidering ive bought item through ebay.

ebay already has the fees. No worry at this point.

i dont have any email for him. hence why i wanted to ask on here if its allowed.

i know its against ebays policys asking for his contact details when a auction is still live but thought it was ok once you bought item to complete sale if seller is ok with pickup.

request the contact info through advance search. Ebay will email you their details.

depends - ebay have fees if it is bought/bidded via auction but not paid for via paypal, or if it was BIN without instant payment. But if it was just messaging and no bidding, then that is avoiding fees, but that is the sellers problem anyway not the buyers......

you have to contact the seller and ask for contact phone number, that is easiest....dont say too much on messages or they could get in to bother....
