EXIF Data query
 

Hi All,

I have been using Exif data editor to strip Exif data before uploading pics for my listings on ETSY.
Today I used one of my olympus DSLR and unfortunately forgot to clean its metadata. Although I replaced the lising pics with the cleaned ones ( but that info has gone to etsy anyways now.. i guess).

I have used this camera last year around this period ( I didn't know about stealth then) and those shops got suspended in April last year.

I checked the metadata info for the pics on my laptop:
1) camera company
2) model
3) focal length
4) lens mm
5) iso info

would that cause any issue with the shop?
Any info/thoughts are welcomed.
It goes without saying that I would have to be careful to remember to clear metadata before uploading the pics.

Are the images on similar backgrounds or of similar or identical products? Otherwise it should be fine. It’s been a considerably long time either way.

neither product nor the background is same.. but the infosec guy in me is always looking for some algo or bot chasing me..lol

there is a lot of discussion on this subject many long time users claim they do not check this. it takes just a few seconds to clear meta so I do. Always use better safe than...broke :rolleyes:

All that said I know I forgotten a few times and was always fine. :thumb:

A lot of new picture taking devices include GPS coordinates of where the picture was taken.

I'm not a gambling man, so I don't allow them to access this information.

Sounds like you got lucky.

You can't do anything about the info they already have, just don't make the same mistake again. :)

I always delete the EXIF first thing after the pictures are downloaded, before I even edit them, gives me a lot of time to do it if I slip up somehow.

Try and avoid repeating the same mistake OK - you should be ok given the differences you mentioned in pic and background
