VM or User Accounts?
 

I am stuck between running VMs or different user accounts. I have two computers that I use depending on which house I am at, so I assume that having the VM on an external drive would allow me to run it on either computer.

Each VM would be for a single account, and would have a dedicated proxy from IPBurger or 24vc.

Which would you all do? I know User Accounts are easier to setup, but by doing a VM, I could run Windows 7, 8, and 10 for each different account to remove another possible link.

Am I looking into this too much?

It depends really...

Are you going to use multiple accounts simultaneously? Then VM

Are you going to use multiple VPNs? Then VM

Is your computer slow, and lacking specs? Then user accounts.

VMs are very resource intensive so will slow down your computer the more machines you run at once. So if yours is already slow, either ditch the idea of VM or you'll need to upgrade. Just bear that in mind.

If you have 2 laptops just do all user accounts and use one laptop to control the other via Teamviewer.
That's how I do things and it works very well. As an added bonus it means you can operate them from anywhere in the world.
