Outsources my eBay accounts
 

I was thinking about outsourcing one of my ebay accounts to a young guy in my neighborhood that knows a little about ebay. I would pay him weekly to run the account, package and ship items. I would provide him with everything he needs to do the job.

Anyone else do this?

Why do you want to do this? I presume free up some time? If so, you could always find a fulfilment centre where you can send your packages to, pay them a fee to deal with shipment. All you need to do is send them a list of your orders every day, or where possible, you can give them that access to check from their side.

All of this you can do without handing over the details to your eBay account. More importantly, you can do all this for ALL of your eBay accounts. That would free up a lot of time for you to do whatever it is you want to do.

A fulfilment centre that will really ship daily like suppose? Good luck on that one. I've look into this and found many either super over priced or reviews of things not being shipped out for 2 weeks.

The guy isn't going to run the account like you would because he's not invested. I haven't done what you're describing per se, but I have sold 2 accounts to an ebay-literate friend of mine after building them up for a few months. He ran them both into the ground within 3 months and won't talk to me to this day because he claims I "set him up for failure".

If you do let him run an account for you I'd at least make sure you're checking in on your seller dashboard, resolution center, etc fairly often.

Make sure you know the potential employee and can trust his work ethic as well

In this case teach him to fish to see if he is hungry enough to do it for himself.

Dont give him a fish so he can turn around to claim food poisoning down the line.

In my extensive experience with this, it does not work well most of the time. I would say 1 out of 20 people will succeed. It almost always was a waste of my time or caused me a financial loss. Every once in a while you come across someone who does a great job but those same people will want more and more and more. Catch 22.

A real go-getter like you need for this is going to go get their own, they won't need you.

Ive had people for packing only... that's as far as I was willing to go and still ended up with some repairable trainable issues.
