| | | Hypothermic | 07-05-2009 08:43 PM | F.ake Business Contact Information [First/Last Name] -- eBay Buisenss Account Hello,
I created a LLC after my personal account was suspended. However, I am going to be selling new items on this new business account - they are not f.akes.
I have the following:
- New LLC
- EIN Number
- New Buisness Bank account
- New Buisness Credit Cards/Debt Cards
- New Address
- New Land line
- New DSL ISP
- New PC
I am ready to make my new eBay and PayPal Buisness Bank Accounts. However, it asks for business contact information. There is only one members of the LLC and I am unsure what I should place -- I can't place my real name as it may get linked to my suspended account. C
Can I place any information I want for the contact information; as for as First and Last Names goes? All other information will be correct and valid.
Also, does eBay and PayPal ever ask for SS# of the LLC Members or Photo ID? It is a legit business.
Thank you. |

As for EIN and SSN, PayPal asks for SSN, not EIN. They do not accept EIN numbers sadly. |

What do I do? I have my SSN linked to my personal PayPal account that was linked to my suspended eBay account.
Am I in trouble? Do I need my SSN when I create my new Buisness eBay And PayPal account?
I cant have this new eBay account suspended! It's the only way I can support myself! |

you have to make stealth accounts then |
| Vicvelcro | 07-05-2009 11:54 PM | I just used EIN about 2 weeks ago. Called on phone, spoke to person then supervisor (regarding some other issue), then was told I could send proofs by snail mail (yay) and that they wanted my EIN and a piece of mail with the business name and address. They never asked for SS so I didn't have to weasel it at all.
[added]
Part of the ease has to do with psychology. Call with some other mundane issue but act like it is the end of the world and completely flip-out, if you can ⊗⊗⊗⊗ it. Then, near the end of the call, mention the email request for info and play it all calm and bored. The process goes much smoother and faster than if you focus on the confirmation issue moreso than something ridiculous.
[end added]
There is some issue here that we need to pin down regarding who can use EIN and under what circumstance. EIN is all I ever use.
They got my SS number back in 1999, but that acct is still fine and in cryogenic freeze for some doomsday event. Heh. Quote:

| Hypothermic | 07-06-2009 12:03 AM | inverser@ Thank you for that link. I saved the comments and will use that process if they ever ask for my SSN. nobody999@ The problem is that I really don't want to. I want to operate under with real information and I want to make this my last eBay account and build up with a long term business model. I hope this won't be a problem. I filed for a legit LLC, address, bank accounts, etc.
My personal account was suspended, so I trying to just forget about that, and close my personal PayPal account and just make a new business one and never look back. |
| gurusgrafx | 07-06-2009 03:55 AM | EIN working just fine for me so far. |
| Hypothermic | 07-06-2009 04:37 AM | gurusgrafx's@ That's good to hear. I can not here to make a bunch of accounts to list f.ake items and such. I was suspended for unfair VeRO violations. It just wanst fair, I was selling on my personal account. But I know what isn't really to professional.
I just want to get back on eBay and start clean for my business and not look back. Selling new items that I won't have to worry about VeRO. |
| inverser | 07-07-2009 12:11 PM | Hey Vic and Guru, do you fellas have a Paypal Debit Card in your business name yet? |
| Vicvelcro | 07-07-2009 06:39 PM | I do. More than one. |

| Vicvelcro | 07-07-2009 09:29 PM | Sent images via PM to two members, proof that PP Debit Cards are in fact issued to businesses.
I don't want everyone to see my card, but two people I trust can now support my statement if they choose to speak up. |
| inverser | 07-07-2009 09:48 PM | I can confirm they do exist. Thanks for showing me the card, Vic! ;) |
| Vicvelcro | 07-07-2009 10:01 PM | NP.
Sent the EIN papers that were used to do it, too. Separate PM. Genuine stuff, legit card.
And I estimate about a level 2 stealth technique. |
| inverser | 07-07-2009 10:08 PM | All I can say is WOW! I hope to be at this level myself in a couple months. ^_^ |

| Vicvelcro | 07-07-2009 10:42 PM | Well... Stealth, you know. |
| GreenBean | 07-07-2009 11:38 PM | Do a beverage alert next time, will ya :fight: Coffee sprayed over the monitor. Seri-arse, these images need to be downsized. They are scary ;) (Too0 big) LOL |
| Vicvelcro | 07-07-2009 11:46 PM | Sorry.
Cropped it and added some relevant infos again. Oh, yeah, and people - Before you view that image attachment, swallow any liquids you may be drinking. |
| GreenBean | 07-08-2009 02:20 AM | It is good to see such photos of certain items;) Take note, kids, plan carefully and enjoy the rewards :cheer: |
| oompaloompa | 07-08-2009 02:30 AM | ok Vic..that was uncalled for, it made me choke whilst eating my breakfast..
Yes, I can attest in UK, also banks issue business with debit card and check books, I have one also..
anyway at least I will recognise you now when I see the photo-fits on AMW |
| Vicvelcro | 07-08-2009 02:40 AM | When I get arrested, I'll be sure to flip the glasses upside down before they take the mug-shots. |
| Vicvelcro | 07-08-2009 04:53 PM | I bagged another one today. Took me 1 phone call, 5 minutes with first responder. Then 12 minutes on hold for a specific department. Answered 3 questions verbally. 18 minutes on hold while they called another department about the EIN issue and driver license. EIN was already in the DB and corps do not get a driver license. DL problem was erased, EIN was confirmed. Everything A-Ok at end of call. I asked if there were any other issues I might attend to. I was told there was nothing else that could come up, except in error. Was given a phone number to call in the event an error may arise. A phone number direct to someone who can button anything into a 'fixed' condition.
The old goat downstairs wept. |

| Vicvelcro | 07-08-2009 07:53 PM | EIN for tax reporting would keep your personal SSN and related credit report in-line with your actual financial performance as a living breathing body. |
| nobody999 | 07-08-2009 07:55 PM | i'm thinking about doing this ein thingy with my legit paypal account once 2011 rolls around and everything will be reported to the feds. |
| Vicvelcro | 07-08-2009 08:01 PM | Going as an LLC, you can make a new 'legit' account. As many LLC's as you have, you may have legit ebay's.
I've never converted a non-LLC Pp into an LLC PP. Study up. I'll share any ifos I find. |

| Vicvelcro | 07-09-2009 12:56 AM | 1 phone call. I never got disconnected while on hold, I never lost my temper and hung up. I only got transferred once during the call near the beginning and was only placed on hold twice.
What floored me was them volunteering a phone number like that. Not sure if that's a scary sign or not. It's a break from their pattern. May not exactly be a good thing. But the way the call progressed in a linear manner, on it's own, it stands up to mental evaluation.
Maybe they're getting adjusted to the whole LLC concept or maybe they're building up a squad of crack agents to analyze the whole thing and figure out a way to throw a wrench in. In the recent past few (4-6) months, I've noticed it's easier and faster to get certain types of problems resolved. I can't help but wonder 'why' while I enjoy the benefits. | | All times are GMT -5.
