PayPal Confirmation for Accessing Funds

Logged into PayPal recently and noticed that they want me to confirm my identity now to access my funds. I can still receive payments but I can’t send funds or make any purchases until they have more of my information. Don’t feel comfortable giving my SSN to them. They didn’t ask for it when I signed up and they don’t have a problem with me selling items but I can’t access my own money? That’s called theft in my opinion. Seeing if anyone else has run into this issue recently.

Re: PayPal Confirmation for Accessing Funds

It's not theft. It's part of what you agreed to when you made your account and agreed to their terms and condition. This TOS update was discussed to death last year and it won't be going anywhere.

I don't know why you aren't comfortable giving a fully PCI-compliant multi billion dollar payment processor your SSN, but I can assure you it's perfectly safe.
