CC for ebay thought
 

I called BOA about venders seeing my name when I use the debit card or any card the bank issues. Like at a gas station where I swipe alone or at the ATM... They say the vendor never sees my name. So useing a CC or debit on a ebay verification is okay. Or lets say ebay uses the card cause the account is empty, how would they see my name?

You're right, it's just like a bank account they don't SEE your name. But it has been said that the Paypal can call your CC to verify the name appears on the card.

Yea but as long as your not banging ebay for fees where they have proof of non payment, any fraud with buyers has to be proven with the cops. Could'nt the buyer be a scammer with a imposter product? Was'nt I scammed when I bought this authentic product. Was'nt my supplier scammed when he bought it? What cop is going to go and find out if it's real. PP can do whatever, I have proof that my banned account has my money in it and PP owes me money first!

Thats utter BS. Anywhere you swipe your card, they have your first and last name. Or business name.

Your name is encoded on the magnetic stripe of the card. Track 1 contains B#######CCNUM####^LASTNAME/FIRSTNAME^YYMMRANDOMDATA000000

So anywhere you swipe, the reader gets that information.


However, eBay CAN verify the name on the Credit or Debit card legally. Same with any other company.

So why all of the sudden useing bank cards are o.k.? Does'nt ebay check if the bank card works or are they assuming that the card is'nt maxed out. Buy testing the card the REAL name comes up does'nt it? and bang!

I use to use bank cards alot, never had any issues. The problem comes from the avs check. If all you use is bank cards then your limited to your zip code for all of your accounts. I like to spread mine out across 3 or 4 different cities.
