waiting periods with new accounts, and alert hits

i read the ebook about the 1 month waiting period for new accounts, and 2 weeks no-listing period when you get a alert hit.

Is this proved? I recently got an alert but didn't stop listing, then got another one a week later. but i think these alerts are random? eBay may flag me when i got one hit, but it relies on other people, (buyers, sellers, copyrights owners) to report voilations that they can not scan electronically. If so, the alert hits are random, and how would the two weeks waiting period help.

and about the 1 month waiting period for new accounts, i got 2 out of three selling immeidately, and was OK, but was down the second month.

I will follow the book anyway but just curious.

As far as you starting out right away just fine and then being down the following month: the system is chronologically behind by weeks. If you'd done it by the book from the start, you'd be fine. It's like getting a traffic ticket from a camera. You didn't know you were nailed. You get the slip later in the mail. Then you go to court. THAT'S THE DELAY. Just because you *think* you look good - doesn't mean you *are* good, and the axe will fall later.

In re: the MCxxxx hits... sometimes you get away with 4 and no prob. Sometimes 1 will kill you permanently. There's a general rule of thumb that isn't set in concrete. We've mentioned that part many times - YMMV.

The point is, if you play it super careful all the way across the board, you stand a fairly good chance of not bleeding-out.

n4spd,
Try to understand that IF you have alerts your account MIGHT be in trouble. ffs, stop grasping straws. Get alerts, take the risk of suspension. Do anything to repeated annoy ebay and be suspended. Try to run your account so it does not get alerts. And yes that means NOTHING COPYRIGHT or VeRo.
You have asked a similar question in this thread http://www.aspkin.com/forums/ebay-su...html#post95087

I have gotten 3 MC019 and 3 seven day selling suspensions on one of my stealth accounts. I have not been suspended yet, but I'm letting that account sit for a long time before I touch it again.

That's a good idea, that account is pretty close to a suspension.
