Not sure if this is what you mean, or if it helps, but since I never saw it mentioned I'll say that I had an experience once where I used a first initial rather than a full name on a PP account, and always had issues with it.
One time when I called in on a hold or problem a friendly rep mentioned that it's part of the reason so many problems kept coming up, and that I should always use a full first name (or at least not just an initial).
My credit card at the time only had a first initial and so I thought it'd give me more shipping address options or something I'd find useful down the road, (never did) and opened my PP account with just a first initial (not sure if it's still even possible) but that was something I'd never do again. I couldn't even change it to a full name without submitting docs.
I'm not sure about a nick name, but just a first initial was a problematic experience for me. |
