Paypal asking for updated ID

Hey, paypal asked me to update my account with new ID as the ID used has expired (driving license)

It was a stealth ID, shall I just make an upto date one and send it? Do paypal check driving ID to see if it matches?

You'd want to use a passport or different form of ID if possible as I am sure they will check it with previous ID submitted as I know they check for meta data changes as is.
