New - Paypal asking for last 4 of ssn nd DOB for debit card?
 

Hey,
So I just tried to apply for a debit card on a PP account that I've been using. Everything is great on it, passed 60 day limitation, no complaints. Except now when I try to apply for it is asking me for last 4 numbers of the social and the date of birth. !?!?! I applied for debit cards before and never encountered this. What do I do? I need the debit cards to get the money out of the PP account. I do not want to transfer it to my bank.

Any help would be appreciated.

Seems paypal is learning all the methods of how stelth users cash out there paypals and they DON'T LIKE IT! there going to try to stop any method we use to get our hard earned money out of there greedy clutched hands. They did this same BS to people who used the plug-in to cash out now for out protection we must verfiy are ssn to use it. Now they want last 4 digits so u can use the paypal debit card. Its best to keep any method of cashing out a secert from there all seeing eyes.

^^^Don't make the same speech every time something happens. At the least say 'Rats'. Don't bring any more attention than required.:rolleyes:

I had a similar instance, except it was right when the change happend. I applied for the card, then nothing, no it's in the mail or your approved, nothing. 2 days later I was limited and they wanted just as you said, last for of the social and a new credit card to confirm the address.

when did this change happen? because I just applied for a debit card about a month ago and received it. Now its asking me to verify dob and last 4 of ssn.

Has anyone gotten around this?

In my case i never used the debit cards! my paypals never lasted 60 days or longer they always got limted before hand lol. But to me thats what it looks like there fazeing out all quick methods of cashing out your pp.

I applied for a PP debit card today on my legit account.
I can confirm that they asked for last 4 of social as well as DOB. Did not approve me right away, said they would get back to me within a few days if I were approved or not.

This account is over 5 years old. I had never applied for debit card but just figured I finally would.

hmm.. well, anyone have any other ideas of cashing it out without the money going through the bank account? .. btw, my accounts dont really get suspended

its werid how pp can verfiy a ssn just by the last 4 digits. Eather ssn verfaction only requires the last 4 or there useing your info and matching it with last 4 digts of your ssn through a list of ssn's

Got some News! Paypal is using wellsfargo to confirm identity as well as process there credit card payments. They are running the last 4 of your social through checkz system and matching the address with AVS. Just for applying for the debit card. Never ends..............

so.. is there any way around this? does it automatically check it? What is i type in "0000" or soemthing of that sort for the last 4 #'s ?

care to share? if there is something to do aside from just avoiding payhell, please pm me. i've had 5 accounts in the last 6 weeks go down, i now have nearly 20k tied up for 6 months.

I assume this applies only to new debit cards, right? you dont need to put in last 4 when using old, already issued card?
