How risky is making sales of DVD's if new on ebay?
 

Yes, I have been perusing through recent and past articles on selling DVD's on eBay. If all possible, I would like some advise from members here on Aspkin.

I still have a feedback score of under 10, so I'm still new. What risk is there starting to sell them? I will take pics of items to post on eBay. The only problem is that they may not be quite-so-legit. I'm well aware of the dangers of such. Any suggestions?

MC019 will hit the account quickly. You'll be back here crying the account is suspended. For me, I just don't like the idea of sanctioning your doing it.

Best move when selling dvds start of very slow like maybe 2-3 dvds the first 3 days then move to 5 and when u start getting hit with good feedback work your way up. Theres a seller on ebay name kritterdvds they have 1000s of + feedback and the dvds are knock offs very good knocks at that and there doing fine.

If I were you I would stay away from certain dvd's. If they are made by bechbody then you will get removed instantly. They remove listings on a daily basis.

Lol the P90X things. I've heard many horror stories of their legal team really hunting down pake sellers.

Anyway with DVD's I suggest you selling maybe 1-2 a week, and add 1 each week depending on how sales go and how popular the item.

Apart from that, avoid the big nonos. No large quantity single listings, no ultra ultra low prices (e.g. rrp for a dvd is $150, competitors are selling at around $100, don't sell at $50 lol), try to use stock images if you can - and make you description as professional as possible, but not too flowery in tone.

I sell a few dvd's aside from my regular items. I either sell in two areas, a) really old/outdated - not so popular dvds, or b) really popular dvd's (tv series, etc. but I take care to professionally present my listing as if I've been doing this for ages - dvd summary, item specs, region warnings, detailed returns policy, stock photos only.

Only two reasons DVD's can get pulled, a) vero; you can tell if it's a hot vero item, (if you know it's popular and you do a search for it and all the listings are new, then regular vero takedowns occur for it,) or b) ebay things they're pakes - e.g. region free, asian import, weird colour, wrong language, dodgy packaging, stuff, or even if you list at a ridiculously low price due to reports from bigger competitors.

So avoid those two and you'll do fine.
