Best way to ship to canada from the US.

I have a few items that just ended that need to be shipped to canada. I even stated that I don't ship internationally . Oh well, I want to know what is the most cost effective way to send to Canada from the US. I need to be able to track the package.

Thanks

I recently had to ship a couple items to Canada, also no international shipping but people do not read :suspicious:

The cheapest method I found was USPS First Class International.

This site may be a bit of help to bookmark for comparing shipping rates
Shipping Sidekick - Compare Shipping Rates - USPS / UPS / FedEx

Isnt 100% accurate but will get you very very close or you can call carrier of your choice for an exact shipping price.

Are you able to track your package with USPS First Class International? I don't want buyers filing claims when they indeed receiv the items. Heard it happens all the time.

Thanks

well...... yes and no

You can see that it made it to Canada but their tracking infrastructure there doesnt work like ours. So basically, you see it arrives in canada but youre pretty much in the dark after that point unfortunately.

Oh lol. Well I guess I'm going to have to take a chance. Have you had any complaints yet?

Thanks again

no complaints yet, but you never know when and if it will happen for sure!

good luck though :thumb:

I just received an email from a buyer that said he didn't receive his item. It's been 3 weeks since I sent out the package. I will no longer ship to canada by first class international mail. The only way to track to the buyers door internationally is by Express Mail.

I suggest you guys to consider shipping by fedex or ups. Also only ship by express mail if you are going to use USPS. DO NOT use priority mail. Even though the item is track able, it is not accurate. You will lose the paypal dispute even though the tracking number says the item is delivered.

Problem with using UPS or Fedex is they charge custom fees to the buyer. If the buyer refuses then the item will get sent back to you. Express mail is expensive.

Yozalo has the best idea for shipping to Canada. Personally, I use UPS with no questions asked. A far as express mailing and paying a higher price for it, then that would be up to you. If you are selling items for a couple of hundred each and do not ship to Canada often then its just a couple of dollars out of your pocket.
Now if you ship items that you know are against their policy even though you know it will reach its destination, then its worth the few extra bucks.
I sell items occasionally, but will only ship through UPS because USPS asks too many questions. I spend about $5 more per box, but its worth NOT getting the hastle.
Good Luck!
