Simon card no longer work for eBay
 

I tried to activate my eBay seller account with a simon gift account, got the message saying pre-paid card is not accepted.

Looks like simon method is dead. Any other alternative??

Simon cards have not worked for ebay seller accounts for several months now. :croc:

Try a visa gift card from Safeway, that worked for me.

Just create your 'seller account' by linking to your PayPal account.

No need for a prepaid card for eBay.

That's a new one, I guess I need to get the new ebay stealth.

I might be wrong, but pretty certain that using the Paypal account for ebay fees purposes that the Paypal account must be verified.

Seems like Ebay has changed their policy. I just register a new account and Ebay said I have to add credit/debit card to verify identity.
Simon is definitely not working now.

Welcome to the forum ABC. The only reason ebay would require a cc when registering, is if you change the email after the confirmation email is sent. Otherwise they do not require a credit card.

They dont verify by phone, they wont take Am Ex. or Vanilla Visa, they wont link Paypal anymore.. u can link it after u verify by CC. Does Safeway's still work?

Yes!! there is need for a prepaid card! i linked it to my PayPal account(which is verified) like you said

How did you start selling without receiving the verification call from ebay in the first place?
I used a SGC AE yesterday to set up a selling acount and it worked fine, also worked to set up a Paypal account, but could not find the 4 digit verification code from PP in my SGC account page to lift the limit. Anyone else experience that?

The way I do it is list an item for sale, verify phone and set up paypal as payment method which I already have set up with any visa gift card, it works every time.

This is exactly what I did, but the GC I had was an AmEx which worked the last time I set up new accounts about 3 months ago.

Maybe they're tightening up their policies for Amex.

Seems odd that it would work for ebay and not for PP

I just created an Ebay account a week ago and right after I created the account, Ebay wanted me to confirm identity by adding a credit/debit card before I could do anything else. (I tried Simon and 2 other prepaid but they're all not working). So I could not even list an item, link it to PayPal or anything.

3 days later, I received an verification email from Ebay to activate my account and I just couldn't verify my account. This situation happened twice for me.

Please tell me anybody has successfully created an account within a month from now that could get the account work because I really have no idea how to have a stealth account right now.

What card did you try to use?

The card I used never worked for ebay only paypal, never needed a card for ebay since I always use paypal as payment.

I just set up 40 in the last 2 days. Simon cards don't, just get any other visa gift card, have it registered with the same info as paypal enter the 4 digit code. Go back to ebay list an item to sell select paypal as payment, have ebay call you, enter the code then you'll be taken to paypal and then back again to finsh your listing or save it for later.
