Creating an LLC & AVOIDING paypal?

Ok so I have had an account open since October 09 and have 9 feedbacks...I have sold probably 35 items (SLOWLY) like the book said but some people haven't left me feedback yet. The stuff I've been selling is really cheap like postcards etc. Before my original powerseller account was suspended and paypal was limited, I sold iPhones. I want to sell iphones again as I still have about 20 in my inventory but I am SO scared that eBay will limit my account or paypal will and then I'll have to start all over - AGAIN - and they'll keep my freakin money like before! So, I created an LLC but I have not added the new biz to my eBay account yet, I wanted to check with you all first. What I was thinking of doing is adding the LLC to my eBay account and then accepting google checkout or something instead of paypal.... Would this help me stay under the radar better than sticking with paypal since eBay owns them? Please advise me on the best way to go about this and avoid limitations! Thanks!

It's probably not a good idea to add the LLC info to an existing account. Create a brand new ebay/paypal account using the LLC info. Let both accounts age and then if you want to sell iphones start off selling the accessories for the iphone first build some feedback then you can mix the phones in after about 20 - 25 DSR. Give it a try, start off slow, and make your customers happy.

how come I shouldn't add it to the existing acct?

You can but then you will be linked. From my personal experience and to survive long term ebay/paypal doesn't like when you "change" information, especially when it goes from personal to business. Updating an account is ok. If you start off an account with that information and don't have to "change" it the stronger it will be.

ok but my business address is the same as the address on that account...I guess I should change the business address too now?

make a new account, you can add variation of address (so letter would get to it) or a box - then you will have 2 accounts instead of 1, always better!

luvmyyorkie 01-28-2010 08:36 PM

what do you mean a "variation" of the address? the address on my biz license is a PO Box and is the same one as on the eBay account that I wanted to link to it...Are you saying to create a new eBay account and instead of listing the address as a PO Box, to write it out as the location of the post office with #xyz etc (so it would look like a building with an apartment number basically...)?

gurusgrafx 01-28-2010 10:00 PM

^^^^^^that works.

oompaloompa 01-29-2010 06:44 AM

that po box can be changed to make a new address that will get post to it, I have addresses that are switched around eg one letter of end of zip code different and make box 48b instead of 48 or have the name/business slightly different - but all so that the post gets there......

real addresses are precious....make as many accounts out of them as possible!!

Does anyone know what ebay/paypal does when you use up every variation of an address? Do they just say abusing ebay or is there a specific 'come on! there are forty apts at that address selling stuff ' message? Do they start looking at the similar accounts and start suspending?

oompaloompa 01-29-2010 04:18 PM

yeah, I would do forty apartments! Im talking maybe 2 variations per address, there is only so much you can stretch it, plus it has to be a slowish account and non-abusive or address gets looked at..mine are ok for a long time now..

Hercules 01-29-2010 06:53 PM

So your saying that you have first hand experience on getting suspended for multiple addresses/accounts on more hot selling fastish type circumstances. Or maybe you read about this particular suspension happening here or on the web.

luvmyyorkie 01-30-2010 09:35 PM

can you tell us please how you do your variations (with examples - not real addresses of course) :)

oompaloompa 01-31-2010 05:29 AM

if you have a new business name, I suggest you have a fresh box, thats if you are going to be doing alot of business and therefore alot of checks on you.

The variation of address thing, is just for slow under radar or buying accounts....
