got my BOA online account so how so I use it?

I got a regular checking account online with BOA and now am confused on what to do with it. do I use it for paypal or ebay? I have a stealth ebay account but have a Paypal acccount under my 16yr old sons name.(discussed already) where do I use my bank account in my name at? just want to get this correct before I mess something up.

Thanks

Are you making another account? What are you thinking of doing?:peace:

I just need to get where I can sell on ebay. I need to convert my acount to a seller account and then I need to lift some of the limits for the $500 withdrawal on paypal. I figured I could use this account for one of the 3 ways to lift the limits. Or do I use it for ebay to upgrade to a seller account?

Also should I add my sons name to the BOA account so I wont have any problems on paypal when transferring money from paypal to BOA and then to my BOA Debit card?

Got my card in the mail and the PIN number but no routing #'s etc. do I get them from the bank itself?

Whoa man, you're all over the place.

The names on your paypal and bank of america account, DO NOT have to match. Don't worry about that. Use the debit card that came with that account to verify the credit card requirement. Again, the names here do not have to match, but the zip code does.

You will not add a bank account to ebay. Verify the paypal account, credit card and bank account, then link it to ebay.

With bank of america you can view the routing number and account number online. click on the account detail, and it will be to your left. It reads "show routing number" and "show account number'. Use the routing number for electronic transfers.

a couple more questions and I think im good.

do I need to put some money into the BOA account before using it for paypal since they make small withdrawals?

Also when paypal says routing # do I need to get that from the bank? normally its on the checkbook but since I did it online it didnt come with that stuff. SHould I go make a small deposit in my local BOA and then go in paypal and do what you say? Thanks

KingRay,

When I opened my BOA savings, the minimum opening was $25. I didn't know that there was a $0 requirement for the checking. But yes, you should have some money in there so when they do their small transfers you don't have a bounce fee. I think that would suck.

And First Edition answered your last question with his last line:

 Paypal doesn't take deposits from your bank account, they deposit them.

NTP 02-02-2010 10:04 AM

Doh! That's right. I"m sorry. Please excuse me. It's been like 9 yrs since I verified a bank account with Paypal and I'm just getting ready to make stealth ones.

They MAKE 2 small micro deposits, and then you add them up and tell them how much it was.

The first time I go to add something to a discussion and I screw it up.

Sorry everyone!

If I use my debit card from the account though wont they do that 1.95 withdrawal to get that expuse #. Or do they only do the account check on one of them which in my case would be my bank account for .11 or so(deposit)?

I will put some money in there anyway.

lakeman 02-02-2010 03:07 PM

Yes they would take $1.95 if you use your debit card. Using a debit card is not recommended for several reasons.. Use the search button. :heh:

Okay, I will use a simon CC then, I was told on here yesterday that it was a good idea to use the debit that came with my BOA account paperwork. I will disregard i then and go with the simon CC. Thanks

First Edition 02-02-2010 04:46 PM

that 1.95 is refunded.....

lakeman 02-02-2010 04:59 PM

The $1.95 is refunded to the paypal account, not the bank account...

GreenBean 02-02-2010 05:22 PM

grrr: Careful with what info ya'll give to anyone. Too much confusing help being given out. :peace:

Should we try to summarize...

1 - A credit card is added to your PayPal account to help verify it and lift part of the withdraw limits. They will CHARGE this card $1.95, and after the charge goes through, the $1.95 will be refunded to your PayPal account.

2 - A bank account (here the new BOA account) is added to PayPal to further verify it and remove the withdraw limits. Here they will make 2 small DEPOSITS to your account, and then you login to PayPal, verifying the amounts of the deposits to complete the process.

Alternatively, with BOA (and some other banks) you can verify the account instantly by providing PayPal with your online banking user name/password. Some on the forums swear by this, others want nothing to do with it.

3 - You link your PayPal account to your eBay account to create your eBay seller account.

4 - Profit ;)

Correct me if I'm wrong, a credit card only is only temporarily authorized for $1.00, if Paypal detects it's a debit card, then they charge $1.95 and ask for expuse number.

Correction: $1.00 is a temp charge to add a card. $1.95 is charge to link & confirm the card and get the expuse number, then the $1.95 is refunded to the PayPal account & the $1.00 is refunded to the credit card or the $1.00 that was authorized is expire (never charge)
