positive feedback - paypal automatically releases funds? No?

I received a positive feedback yesterday, and for the first time the funds were not automatically released. Anyone else have the same thing happen??? :help:

GreenBean 02-04-2010 08:54 PM

Yep. Since their last change of T&C, a couple of other users have said the same. FB received but funds not released at once. In fact one user had finds held past the 21 days as well.:fight:

Here's the thread that is fairly recent,Enigma :peace:

Mentions some of the variables from our nemisis

Thanks GB much appreciated.

I sent something to Italy almost two weeks ago. The buyer paid right away after auction and I shipped the same day, but I never hear from her/him or anything and no feedback yet. So, I think it will be 21 days with Paypal..:tears:

Did you ship it with delivery confirmation?

EmptyPockets 02-05-2010 11:01 AM

I just started selling on an aging stealth account, have had no holds on the super cheap items but when the total item cost was above $10 USD, I got 21-day hold.

Hold was released a few hours after buyer left a (+) and I did enter tracking in ebay/paypal.

So yes, they do release funds with positive feedback still, may depend on total amount though? May have other factors too? May just take up to 24 hours to release?

I can comment on that I just had 3 feedback come in yesterday for some items and the funds still haven't been released.

Enigma 02-05-2010 01:05 PM

What was the dollar amount on your items? mine are around $100 each.

Did you have tracking information? My funds are released when the tracking proves delivery, often even before feedback is left.

Enigma 02-05-2010 05:46 PM

Just got another positive feedback, no auto release of funds. Should I call these clowns up and see what the problem is? or should I wait and see if the funds get released after 3 days? I logged into my paypal account, and no limitations what so ever.....Just a little worried if I do call them, they will run a review on the account.... B Shiiiiiiiiiit!

Enigma 02-05-2010 08:14 PM

Ok so I did a google search on this, and I found that paypal will hold funds even after positive feedback is left for high risk category items. From what I read they will hold the funds 3 more days after positive feedback is left. We shall see!

You can't ship to Italy with delivery confirmation if you ship USPS International. I did pay like extra $14 for registered mail because I think that's the only way how you can track it... and entered this number into my PayPal. The item sold for about $117 plus $35 to ship to Italy. I am not hearing anything from PayPal or the buyer....Last time checked the number, sait item accepted on 26th January, and left JFK on the 1st...nothing else.
Kinda worried the buyer is not answering my emails, but maybe they don't speak English?
I think its about time USPS implements system for international packages, so we are able to track our packages..

I was told that you can now track packages going internationally with the customs form #. All customs forms now have a bar code so that the package can be scanned at every stop. Do you remember the customs form #?

Lyda 02-05-2010 10:53 PM

Wow, didn't know this, thanks.. Yes, they gave me both, customs form and the registered mail form. I will try see if it will show up by the customs form number.. If what you are saying is true, this will save a lot on shipping Internationally... UPS and Fedex are too expensive.

Lyda 02-05-2010 10:58 PM

Well, found this Customs form number and tried to check it: It says:

Your item was accepted at 1:39 PM on November 5, 2009 in SWEDESBORO, NJ 08085. No further information is available for this item.
This is all wrong, though. I mailed the package January 26 from SC. Now what?

Doesn't sound right at all. Call the 800 # on the usps site tomorrow, and tell them the problem.

GreenBean 02-05-2010 11:38 PM

It's correct. Swedesboro is the postal sort facility. USPS sends a lot of parcels with different freight companies. Those records are showing that the item got to the (last) point before going on an international flight. Probably went FEDEX :ranger:

Lyda 02-06-2010 08:43 AM

Yea GB, I can understand that, but it says November 5, 2009 and I shipped in January 2010...

I,ll give it until Monday..I think I am already doomed to full 21 days anyway... Sometimes I think better not to sell to Italy and other countries over there, but it is becoming very competitive out there and you never know where your buyer is ...

Enigma 02-06-2010 12:47 PM

I got some good news, paypal released the funds. :amen:

Lyda 02-06-2010 02:50 PM

Happy for you Enigma, I am still waiting...

Re: positive feedback - paypal automatically releases funds? No?

This is an old thread, but I try not to flood the forum with new threads about the same topics...

So What's the latest with PayPal releasing funds early after positive feedback received? I had a buyer leave positive feedback about 3 days ago yet the funds are still pending???

It used to be almost immediate release after positive feedback is left. Did this change?

I think so, I also had a buyer who gave me positive feedback and I had to wait a week before I got it. PayPal acted like I didn't even get the feedback. :(
