It won't work and the account will get limited immediately. | Well, I didn't use the prepaid GIFT card and used the prepaid Money card to open my Paypal account because didn't know if walmart gift Visa card would work. Was not Green Dot but just Walmart. And minimum gift card was $50. Which is a lot for me. Yes, I know that if it didn't work, I didn't lose $50 but would have a $50 gift card that I would then need to use. But I hate using gift cards!
Anyway, so I did use a variation on my name (added just one letter to my last name) and address to register the prepaid money card and not my REAL EXACT name and address although I did have to use my real SS#. So hope the feds don't come knocking! No problems with opening the account.
I used this variation on my name and address to open and then verify this Paypal account and IT WORKED! Limits lifted! And no limited account so far. but of course, I have not actually USED this new Paypal account for receiving any money yet so they may be waiting for me to drop moolah in there first as is their sneaky ways!
So maybe they do only check for numbers when doing the AVS check. Will keep everything small for now to stay off the radar though.
So does anyone know if the Walmart Gift card work? Maybe I'll try it and report back.
Oh yes, and then AFTER I verified my Paypal account with this card, I then went back and called Walmart (or whoever services the card) to tell them that I had entered the wrong address and had them correct it to the right address.
So any thoughts on this method? Yeah, more trouble than using a VCC but cheaper though! And it's Walmart! A name you can "trust"!
