Default Does this scramble your IP?

anonymouse.org ?

Also - in the ebook it mentions VPN service, but says to use it as a "last" resort. My question is why? I can pay $15 a month and it scrambles everything correct?

Is there an IP scrambling program that I can purchase / download that does new IP / Cookie clearing every time I tell it to?

Don't use that kind of stuff. You're basically putting a big red target on your account for eBay when you use proxies and such.

If you are paying $15 a month, the only thing being scrambled is your wallet.
I'll try to explain it this way. You are in the USA (I hope?) There are enough ISPs that you could use that will give you a clean IP rather than a cloaked IP.
{mind there are users here that use elaborate methods to access ebay accounts}. I'm addressing the ordinary user. EG, you might have a dynamic IP and you could use a mobile dongle. Dial-up could be your friend. AOL dial-up is effective, slow but effective. You want to be stealth as easily as you can.
paypal especially HATE vpns. They assume badness. Going with the methods I outlined is one less pain.

For whatever reasons you now need to be stealth. then it is best, imo, to do so as easily as you can. VPNs have been so popular that users here have lost accounts because other suspended users have had the same IP...VPN name is seen & that can flag an account sooner rather than later

Hey - what about using a Virgin Mobile wireless USB card. No contract. Costs about $20 bucks per month. Do such cards get new IPs every time you connect?

Yes as the Bean says it's not a good idea. I have used hide-my-ip. Nothing but problems. I got a email from PayPal stating that they knew I was using it and to stop otherwise they will close my account. Then I got all types of errors using PayPal like my account was accessed by a third party. Just get something that does work and doesn't scramble your wallet. Yes the Virgin Mobile card is good.

from what I know virgin mobile cards and any broadband card gives you a dymanic Ip, everytime you connect. Tethering is good too. Cell phone to computer with a cable.

If you have an iphone then there an app iuf your phone is jailbroken that turns your phone into a wifi accesspoint and you computer can connect to it. But you have to have Data on your iphone.

My only question is about Hardware ID's? I hear that your network card mac address is able to be seen by poss eabby and other sites.... is this true?

If so my workaround could be... Usb to ethernet adapter that replaces your onboard enternet and the network mac address.

Anyone use auctionpayments.com?? how is it compared to google checkout merchant cart, or Propay, or CCnow etc...?

For stealth purposes, you just need a different ip than a previous ip. It can be as little as one number off, as long as it's different. Try resetting your ip, using a neighbors wireless, going to a wifi hotspot in town, etc...

VPN's and proxies are a bad idea.

Tethering is a great option. Isn't data required with the iphone?

ebay and paypal cannot see your hardware ID's such as your MAC address. I believe amazon can and does, but ebay does not.

On theses Virgin Mobile wireless USB cards Can u give them any name and address just like on a Virgin Mobile wireless phone? If so that would be awsome cause u could have anonymous internet.

I am using Vodafone dongle in the UK, I have 5 different dongles but what I have noticed is that the last 2 digit only changes each time I connect. However sometimes I am given the same last 2 digit on different dongles. I assume Vodafone has 100 ips in my area and the same ip will eventually be picked. Now can ebay cause this as ip issue if 1 account is suspended using an ip that was given by the network on let say dongle A and then re-issued again on a different dongle? or they need more variables?

I've been contemplating this as well. I found the best thing to do is to use AOL, make sure your cookies are deleted, and change your ip via your router when necessary.

I am looking to buy one as well. Where did you find a Virgin Mobile wireless USB card with no contract for just $20 a month??? I googled it and the prices range from $80 to $99 in different stores .... :(Am I getting something wrong? Is it a separate price for the card? And then you buy plans?

Dude be careful, if only the last digits change that's 1 to 100 chance and is a very small range, keep a spreadsheet and monitor it very closely, only use those ip addresses with 1 or 2 of your accounts and get different isp's for your other dongles if i were you.

Okay then. I haven't tried it out lately myself, it just seemed like I was always hearing that.

I just remembered.. it was this thread:
http://www.aspkin.com/forums/ebay-tr...-not-good.html

AOL broadband does change your IP, but it still gives out the XFF header to eBay. You can disable that but apparently even that won't do the trick anymore.

I may be wrong. My friend is the manager at radioshack. He said the USB cards cost $100. I think he said limited data only costs $20 no contract. Perfect if you're only using it for paypal & ebay.
