In US, it's Tracfone. Cost $9.95. It comes with 10min good for 60days.

bigmac 04-13-2010 08:43 PM

is there activation fee with that?

bmwsouthside 04-16-2010 05:03 PM

You cant verify paypal with cell phones anymore. It sent me a message that you cant verify with cell phone must be a land line. So I went to neighbors house and called and verified it with his phone. not sure how it works in canada but thats what happened this week in america.

This is not true. You can verify ebay with contracted mobile numbers. It is only certain services that do not allow this. Many, many cell phones work with ebay including tracfone.

Phone.com works great, as well as vumber, google voice, Sprint, Verizon, ATT, their respected prepay services....

WJC05 04-17-2010 11:38 PM

I was using tracphones, but found it much cheaper to use vumber..

Stream 04-18-2010 06:39 AM

I just verified my account with straight talk Pre paid "cell phone"

dchef2777 04-18-2010 08:08 PM

I use Vumber its cheap and I can change numbers whenever I want

Imback2010 04-19-2010 07:31 PM

So Ebayhasnt caught on to Vumber?

Someone said it was no good.

Can you confirm that it works 100%

Thanks

PayPal is destroying my life....lol....

HurricaneHuntr 04-22-2010 04:14 AM

will vumbr charge you if you cancel before 14 days?

lakeman 04-22-2010 08:04 PM

Bizzy, They do put a charge on your card to see if you have enough funds on it. But they will remove the charge, within a few days.

stealthpirate 04-22-2010 08:58 PM

I use Vumber...they are great!

bmwsouthside 04-22-2010 11:38 PM

First Edition thanks for clarification

who, ebay or vumber?

If you plan on using an account long term, use a service that is paid monthly.

bmwsouthside 04-24-2010 09:02 PM

Keep in mind its good idea to have access to the phone to dial out

When you know what to expect you can be prepared.
Keep in mind ebay may require you to CALL THEM on new accounts.
It will help your cause if you call ebay from the number you have on file trust me it helps.
For example You can be using the phone at your girlfriends job at her desk or go wherever you have to go to get it done. When I called them they called my name before I said hello. Meaning they are using caller id to the highest extent. Then they asked me a couple of questions and it was back on again within minutes.
thank you guys for all the bright ideas I havent tried them yet but will and will report back.

*67 prepended to phone number makes the call appear private

onlineseller 04-24-2010 10:35 PM

I've been using AT&T cell phones to verify. Most friends won't mind if you use their number to get the PIN.

However, I'm starting to run out of friends too. Hopefully if I can get accounts set up the right way, I won't have to keep doing it over and over again.

I chose one of the suggested options in the stealth book. It's easy to find if you look them up online. First month free. (great for people who have little money to start up) First phone number 10 USD a month and 5 USD for every other one. You can pick the area code for your number. Delete and add numbers at your convenience. I just have all the numbers forwarded to my home landline. So far works GREAT!!!

My local Big Lots had tracfones for $5 with 20 minutes and had a sale for 20% off...I should have bought everyone that they had left
