the main reason i have problems with ebay and was banned was because of my sale of virtual items. ebay recently changed its rules and no longer allows the sale of virtual items from games. these are things such as gold and characters and items in persistent world type games like everquest and world of warcraft.

i was wondering if there was a way to word your auction so that it would be allowed to stay on it. for example instead of saying you are selling 1000 gold in world of warcraft. say you are selling membership in a website that helps you get items in world of warcraft, etc.

if that is not possible i wish everyone who sells virtual items would change to a new website like ioffer.com and get the word out to the gaming community.

aspkin, if you remember which mmo i asked you about in private message please don't repeat it here. i want to stay as private as i can while i try and solve the issue.

Emm, there isn't a way around virtual items on eBay as far as I know. That's what I was selling before they stopped all sellers. I'm in the virtual currency business too. We have our own websites now, and all is well.

Aspkin- my kids collect those pokemon cards - think theyve spent like $30 on 1- but they tell me some are more valuable then others- s this gold for the games like these cards? dont understand- what do you do with the gold? gives you strength like pacman mushrooms??

Sites like IGE.com sell currency in games. Which you can buy other items with. You pay for the 'Gold' and you can use the gold to buy things in game like weapons. It's neat. :)

aspkin, people who run those websites that sell virtual items used to sell and advertise on ebay. basically using ebay to get people to their website. now that ebay doesn't allow virtual items these people now advertise in the game which is hard to do and takes a lot of resources. why don't they just start using ioffer.com and instead of advertising their site in the game they advertise ioffer.com as the new ebay.

wouldn't that be easier for them after a while, then eventually they could stop advertising in the game
