Exclamation I have problem with FEDEX...

Hello,

Everytime I try to send something with fedex, it stuck in the customs for papers missing and I have to call them and explain the content.. I think it has something to do with a commercial invoice that I have to make or something,

I'm kinda lost

It's Fedex Canada by the way,

Any advices please?

Not sure, maybe you should try asking Fedex customer service.

You are missing the proforma invoice. I used to send via FedEx and I never knew that it needed a proforma invoice, I found out the hard way as a couple of shipments cam back to me. I was used to CanadaPost as no invoice was required when shipping at the store for some odd reason.

Huge problem with FedEx ground - I had to stop using them because of this. It was taking too much time. And I had to chase the problem almost every time.

Problem is they don't have the paperwork from package with them. The check or whatever it is they are doing is done in another location and if the invoice you sent with package is not faxed, you get the hold for "no paperwork". Its just a screwy system to say the least. Why its done like this is baffling. It took weeks of daily calls to fedex to find out why this was happening. Thats when someone finally told me. How a company that big can have a system this flawed is beyond me. It just happened on ground for me. But again, I had to dump them. I couldn't be doing this on every shipment.

You can create a proforma invoice on the Fedex website. There are tutorials online if you search on google in order to do this. It's pretty simple, creating a proforma invoice does not take much time when creating on fedex's website...

As I noted above, this is not a type of paperwork issue. Well wasn't for me. They do the clearing in another location then package. And if they dont get paperwork sent over they mark it "missing paperwork"

Its a stupid system for sure. I had to phone them on 80% of my fedex ground packages. Express were always fine.

Now if fedex has access to the performa forms done on site and use them before marking missing paperwork that might help a bunch as burning says.

Oh....thats very weird. I shipped about 60 packages out by fedex before and I never had a problem. The only time I had a problem with paper work was when I accidentally put the DVD name as the item description...

They did not know what was inside the box since I put the name of the dvd as the description. I had to send them another invoice, and make the description more simpler in order for them to identify the package contents easily.

Fedex do NOT have access to proforma invoices you make on there website...

Also when you are attaching the invoice, make sure you put it in the baggy they provide for documents....

I did. It may have been a short term problem in my case. This was a year and a half ago, so maybe not relevant anymore. But it was so bad I had to dump them. 50 shipments in less than a month had "missing paperwork"

Paper work was there for sure.

I was spending 3 or 4 hours a day on the phone with them. They became painfully slow on ground at the time too. 3 weeks + Can to US. So I just gave up.

All had paperwork. Same paperwork I used on 100s and 100s of shipments without a single issue. It was brutal though. Always ground, never express.

But again, awhile back so maybe a short term issue. But between the speed and hassle I just started using xpresspost. 3 or 4 days to the US. Only hassle is having to drop them off. But they get there.

Xpresspost is pretty expensive...

Fedex is fairly expensive as well, with there residential delivery fee and rural delivery fee......

I use canadapost expedited mail, I save quit a bit printing via paypal shipping labels...
