Default Trading Standards .. what will they do

I've been selling some clothing which I can't say 100% is genuine. It's sent from Asia but where else is clothing made these days.

I have a buyer who hasn't got their item yet (they weren't aware it was coming from abroad) and when it took more time than they expected, they started a case. They also said they'd seen some of my neutral feedbacks saying that it was sent from Asia and if they get it and deem it to be ⊗⊗⊗⊗ they'd go to Trading Standards. (my account has over 1000 fb with 99.9%)

I replied saying most of this type of item is sent from Asia and if they bought from any other seller of it, they'd find the same. I said I'd pay for them to return it and refund them in full if they weren't happy with them. They said that's fine if they're genuine but their wife has started to take interest as she is a police officer.

Until then I was stressing like crazy although from what I've seen, Trading Standards usually give you a warning to stop selling it - which I'll do. But to start out saying that they'd go to TS and then to mention that their wife is in the police.. it seems a bit much? Like they're trying to scare me.

Their feedback is all real purchases so it's not a competitor trying to mess with me.

Your opinions are greatly appreciated.

Thanks

I'd be embarassed to say my WIFE was a cop. It is likely intended to make you jumpy. Tell them your wife is the vice president and see if the buyer is willing to do a spouse swap. I mean, take the joke farther than they are willing to go. Then forget the whole thing. Refund or don't. But don't take the person seriously.

I recommend not talking to this person at all anymore.

They won't return the item, no matter what happens, if there is anymore negative talk, just refund and move on. Make this person very happy one way or another.

I refunded someone who said they didn't get it so I refunded it on their word (cost five dollars to me total) then they said they got it a week later wanting to pay the 39.00 dollars! I always get pissed first (to myself) then I charm them, 80% success rate. You must be business like with charm or friendly.
