Green customs tape around my shipment?

I just got a delivery in today and it had green customs take all over it. The writing said "Examined by U.S. Customs and Border Protection".

Now, I have the shipment but, the thing is, if customs inspected what was inside, it should have not went through. This shipment should have definitely been seized if inspected. So, now I'm wondering how or why did they let it go through?

The only ideas I can come up with is that they didn't actually see the items thoroughly and just took a quick peek and let it pass. Worst case scenario I'm thinking is that they let it pass on purpose and are now watching me for sales activities like that woman who was selling those Disney products. Would they go that far though for such small potatoes?

I've had this happen before. I doubt they are watching you. The package may have been opened by their agriculture inspectors, or some other obscure department. If they wanted to get you, they most likely would have arrested you when you took delivery of the package. That way they catch you in posession of the contraband. If you want to play it safe, do not use the same address again.

i don't think they would have much of a case if they caught you with the items, it's when you actually try to sell it that might be the problem

I had this happen once on a delivery and funny thing is they tried to get me to pay a bill for duty fees when they delivered it. The fees were more than I paid for it so I just refused the package and said I had no idea what it was. Never heard anything more about it since and that was over a year ago. I have continued to receive multiple large shipments to that same address with no problems.
