| imhim | 07-15-2010 02:36 AM | parting ways so paypal limited my paypal account because I wanted to withdraw £99.
They said send in ID/Address/Invoice/Tracking. I did all that.
Get the e-mail today saying "parting ways etc etc..."
now, I cant understand this because It was only £99 i tried to withdraw, and they haven't linked me to any other account because it would of said under the resolutions... so why are they sending me this parting e-mails for..???
really really dont understand this
p.s. the id was genuine, only thing that wasnt was the proof of adress/invoice |
| aspkin | 07-15-2010 03:02 AM | PayPal likes to call numbers on invoices and verify details.
I'm guessing that was your problem. |
| oompaloompa | 07-15-2010 04:41 AM | what best advice for invoices? Real supplier and hope they dont give out details of customers? or your own invoice with your own disposible number on? suppose it depends on goods. |
| GreenBean | 07-15-2010 06:31 AM | A phony invoice and you dont understand why you got kicked off? £99 meant nothing to paypal They took a dislike to the invoice and punished you. :pop2:
There's a really fine line about supplying invoices. The more dummy invoices sent to paypal, the harder it will become to get limitations removed. |
| imhim | 07-15-2010 09:08 AM | i got a call earlier this morning but i was asleep, the number was a 02134 number...????? is that paypal?? The number called me today GMT LONDON 6:30AM (I thought it was my alarm, so I just left it...)
I just tried to call the number back this very moment. As soon as I got to 021... it says "the number you have dialled cannot be recognised"...??? |
| imhim | 07-15-2010 09:31 AM | i just called paypal. he told me it was because of my "invoice". He said it looked like it was just "typed" out by someone, there was no company headed info on the top and no address for them...
well I did provide the companies address, so I dont know what there talking about. However, there was no headed document :S
He told me if I can get a "proper" headed invoice they will re-review it... |

He told me if I can get a "proper" headed invoice they will re-review it... | It's worth a shot. If it were me, I would try to look up an invoice for a company online. Make one that looks like it, and fill in the details. I would then get a disposable 800# (whatever the UK equivalent of a toll free line is called) and put that on the invoice. I think that would look much more professional, as most wholesalers have toll-free lines. If you could do something like music on hold, so much the better. But that might be overkill.
In any event, I would put SOME TYPE of a phone number on it. Then, I would ask a friend to take the call so the voice would not be recognized. Again, that might be overkill since the person calling from PayPal may not be the same one that spoke with you. |
| schwuller | 07-24-2010 05:01 PM | jeffweico-thats a good idea, in theory. however, a couple of weeks ago i was nailed by paypal for using that very technique. how? they will simply look up the company in public records, find their official real published bona fide telephone number, and call it. they quickly learn the number you provided on your invoice is not a number for the company and bang, done. she did that while i was on the phone with her. might work for some, didnt work for me. |
| jeffweico | 07-24-2010 06:38 PM | That is good to know. |
when it come to "parting ways" from paypal, do I still have a chance to get the account back or am I done with it? I provided everything legitimate and they pp wont let my account go, they are calling it "high risk". What can I do about it? |
| stealthuser | 04-04-2012 09:16 AM | it sounds to me like you tried to send them a ⊗⊗⊗⊗ invoice which you didn't spend time preparing well or the person that made it for you didn't take the time out to prepare it well... all you can do is /facepalm at this point, i'm pretty sure your account is going to be subject to lots of future scrutiny |
If pp says they are parting ways, chances are very low - try a call to them but I would not hope for much. | | All times are GMT -5. The time now is 05:05 AM. | |
