Ebay Identity verification - help, please!
 

Hi,guys.
I bought an account that was created in October, 2007.
After listing a few items I was hit with Ebay identity verification.
They are ready to send a 4 digit pin to my phone. I am fine with it..BUT, additionally, they ask me to answer a security question before they do it....I have no clue about the answer...The account is blocked with this note..
You're signing in from a computer we're not familiar with. That's no problem, but we need to take a few moments just to make sure no one is trying to access your account without permission
They suggested me to verify this account via Live Help... I waited online for 10 minutes then logged out...
What should I do in this case? Is the account lost?.. I don't know the answer to the security question...I have three auctions up and running...
Can I save a PayPal account somehow? For example, forget about this one and start a new one? Thank you soooooooooooo much in advance!!!

on livehelp, not knowing just one question is ok, as long as you know everything else about account, they may ask you to take a call at registered number, if you cannot, say so, say you are not at home etc. they may ask you to get pin to email (good option), they may quiz you on various things, sometimes they ask you about auctions in the dim and distant past! eg. what colour was the shirt you listed in Jnauary, did it have pockets?! Anyway you should be able to sort it out, the livehelp is usually a formality, not very suspicious, although it depends on the rep you get..good luck.

I'll get all the info that I know, look through the feedback and try to make them to send the pin to my email address...The account is in a man's name, if i answer, I'll kill everything...
It's a weird account. I added a vcc on file a month ago... I found out today that the Ebay account is linked to my paypal account..the vcc is missing.. :( the trackphone number that I changed a month ago as well shows another number... somebody must be logging in without me... If I pass the verification process I will change an old password..

Just an update...
I waited for about 10 minutes to talk to the Live Chat Customer Service... I made up a story about using a library computer, blah, blah, blah... The representative asked me just one question "What is your name?" ... Then, within 2 minutes, he "identified" me and added my computer to the list of recognized computers... I couldn't believe it...
p.s. I changed the password on the account...
