Question Passing PayPal's "account limited" status...

I have a stealth account that was doing pretty well up until last night when I got hit with the dreaded 'account limited' status. I was asked to verify five different things including the social.

I called up and the first guy I spoke to was a total dick. He would not budge on the SSN issue. So I asked to speak with a manager; I was put on hold for about 10 minutes and eventually was disconnected. I called back and got someone else and was able to BS my way around giving the social. They settled instead for a credit card statement for the card that was on file. (Which was also stealth.) Needless to say, photoshop is a beautiful thing.

Somehow I got them to lift my limitation after about two and a half hours worth of calling in, cropping / scanning different requested documents, etc. It wasn't looking good at first and it was a total pain in the ass, but it was a pretty good feeling to finally 'win' in the end.

My question is to you is -- am I good now? At least for a long time? Or do they eventually limit your account for a second time?

My mistake - I just realized I posted this in the wrong area. I apologize in advance to the person who will eventually move it...

OH MY GOD ....

I log on today and I see that the account is back to 'ACCOUNT LIMITED' ... how is this possible????

I spent all that time last night, uploading various items, calling about 10 different times, spending 3 ****ing hours and finally the rep told me that my account was back to being fully restored.

And now? I log back on and guess what - ACCOUNT LIMITED once again! And they want the social again!

I CANT ****ING BELIEVE THIS

The SSN issue is what really makes Paypal a dead-end IMO. It's gonna get even worse next year when they start reporting to the IRS.

Has anyone thought about how to get around the PP SS # issue for next year?

I hate to sound like a broken record, but its all about getting away from paypal guys and gals. its like walking down the same alley and getting mugged over and over and over, then spending a lot of time figuring out what disguises to wear when walking down the same alley so as not to get mugged this time. its all about avoiding that muggers alley entirely.

You should use merchant accounts. Google checkout, Authorize, or ccnow. There are a lot of other ones. I am currently moving away from the paypal and I am really happy that I am. :D
