Chargeback Success Stories

Credit card chargebacks - not PayPal disputes. We hear enough stories of people losing credit card chargebacks, now let's hear any success stories. What it was for, how you won, etc.

I have only experienced 2 credit card chargebacks and no success stories to report.

None. They wont even discuss it. Best response I have ever received from a credit card company is "go to police"

I may be wrong, but I do not believe its even doable...

Basically like it is with the buyers protection...or what i call it, buyers guaranteed to get free policy :(

youre not gonna win just give them a full refund even if its legit. Chalk it up and move on. Me personally will never know how legit sellers with high dollar items ever last on ebay. its a joke. But its the game....PLAY BALL!!!!

I guess it depends on how much and what. Here in Australia, is someone wants to play like that, we get the police involved, especially for a fair sum, as its obtaining property by deception (in other words fraud). Of course alot of boys in blue dont want to be bothered by the paperwork so brush you off, so you just persist until you get somewhere. Or else keep in good touch with those in the force lol!

As a seller - no success with paypal chargeback from buyer and such...

As a buyer, 1 success story for $900 in early 2000s on eBay and another recently for $600ish when seller tried to rip me off.

Maybe someday I will get back at the seller...stealth account is budding nicely =P

Credit card companies have the card holders back. They don't care about circumstances. They will just "protect" card holder. In most cases when someone starts a claim on PayPal there is a process for seller and buyer to deal with chargeback. When you do a chargeback direct with credit card there is no such process, its just done. Seller has no option to even deal with the chargeback. Its just over....

Has anyone gone to the police and got anywhere with their chargeback?
